Whether your student is beginning their journey as a freshman or preparing for graduation as a senior, our team is ready to support, challenge, and celebrate them every step of the way.
This year, we will continue to emphasize:
SPIRIT - Branches of Excellence:
SCHOLARSHIP
Students realize academic, vocational and personal growth is the goal of education through the use of a rigorous, relevant curriculum that provides high standards and expectations.
PASSION
Students are active participants in their own education and show intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning through a commitment to improving themselves, their school, their community and their world.
INTEGRITY
Students respect themselves, others and the environment through academic honesty, forthrightness and service to their community.
REFLECTION
Students think introspectively about the way learning occurs and understand that the risk of failure leads to an opportunity for continued intellectual growth.
INVOLVEMENT
Students engage in a myriad of activities to develop and utilize their own unique abilities and talents in order to improve their school, their community, and their world.
TEAMWORK
Students work collaboratively with other students, staff, and community members in an effective, constructive and compassionate manner.
We are excited about the coming year and we know that the strength of the PACK comes from the partnership between our school, families and community! We appreciate your support of students and Great Oak!
Let’s make this year our best one yet!

New Assistant Principal - Welcome Mrs. Castillo!
Dear Great Oak High School Community,
My name is Maria Castillo, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at Great Oak High School. It is with heartfelt excitement and gratitude that I return to this campus in a new capacity—one that continues a journey 16 years in the making. During my time in Temecula Valley Unified School District, and right here at GOHS, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a math and science teacher, a math instructional coach, and most recently as a PBIS TOSA.
Temecula is more than just where I work—it’s home. My family and I are proud members of this community, with my own children attending both Great Oak and Gardner Middle School. I’ve experienced firsthand the positive impact of strong school-family partnerships and the power of a connected, supportive school environment.
Building relationships and fostering a strong sense of community have always been at the heart of my work in education. My approach is deeply rooted in service—ensuring that every student is known, valued, and supported. Academic growth will continue to be a central focus at Great Oak, where we are committed to challenging students and helping each one reach their fullest potential.
That is why I am equally passionate about creating a school culture where every student feels a true sense of belonging and has meaningful opportunities to lead, connect, and grow—both inside and beyond the classroom. Together, we will ensure our students are not only successful during their time at Great Oak but also well-prepared for the world ahead.
I look forward to partnering with you and continuing the tradition of excellence that makes Great Oak such an exceptional place to learn and grow.
Warmly,
Maria Castillo
