This week, we hosted a spirited pep rally to celebrate our Girls Volleyball Team and their incredible achievement this season. Students and staff filled the gym with energy and support as the team was recognized for their hard work, dedication, and their well-earned Regional Championship title. It was a great moment of unity for our school community and a proud highlight of the season.

Our Horizon Leadership Academy 9th graders are organizing a Thanksgiving donation drive to support Boys & Girls Country, a home for children in need. With the help of our families and in partnership with Embrace Relief, students will prepare Thanksgiving goodie bags for children and families this holiday season. Donations may be sent or dropped off at the school until November 19, and requested items include pasta sauce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, toilet paper, and paper towels. Families who prefer to contribute financially may use the secure Embrace Relief donation link. Thank you for helping our students make a meaningful impact and share warmth with others during this Thanksgiving season.

Thanksgiving Break at Horizon Leadership Academy will take place from November 24 to November 28, giving our students and staff a well-deserved pause to enjoy time with family, rest, and recharge. We hope everyone has a warm and relaxing holiday week filled with gratitude and good memories. Classes will resume on Monday, December 1.

Horizon Leadership Academy reminds all families that our Uniform, Grooming, and Student ID policies will continue to be strictly enforced, as outlined in the HLA Student & Parent Handbook (pages 33–34). All students in Grades 1–11 are expected to wear the official school uniform each day, with pants in black or khaki only. Jeans, joggers, and sweatpants are not permitted. During cold weather, students may wear personal jackets to school but must switch to HLA outerwear inside the building. Hoodies and non-uniform jackets are not allowed indoors. Makeup, nail polish, and lip gloss are prohibited, and jewelry should be minimal—girls may wear small stud earrings only, and boys may not wear earrings. Hair must remain neat, clean, and natural in color. Students must also carry their HLA ID at all times; random ID checks will be conducted, and those without IDs may face consequences. Lost or damaged IDs should be reported to the Front Office. These expectations help maintain a professional and respectful school environment, and we sincerely appreciate your support in reinforcing them at home.
