Welcome Officer Peacock!
Gainesville ISD is excited to announce that Officer Jason Peacock has joined the GISD police department.
Peacock comes to GISD from Pilot Point ISD, where he served as a school resource officer for the past three years. Prior to working in the school setting, Peacock was a Public Safety Officer (Police/Fire/Paramedic) for the Town of Highland Park Department of Public Safety. He served in that role for 20 years.
Officer Peacock has a Master of Public Administration from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Peacock will serve as an officer and assume the title of Chief upon the retirement of our current Chief of Police Lawanna Wisian. Wisian’s retirement is effective in June. She has served as the GISD Chief of Police for 21 years and has been an officer for a total of 45 years.
Please join us in welcoming Officer Peacock to the GISD family. We look forward to his leadership as we work to ensure that our students, staff, and families are safe.
