Greensview Weekly News
Dear Greensview Families,
What an incredible school community we have! I want to extend a HUGE thank you to our families, students, and PTO for their amazing support of this year's Walk for Greensview! Thanks to your generosity and efforts, our PTO raised over $30,000 to support its operating budget and the many wonderful programs and opportunities it provides for our students and staff. What an amazing accomplishment! We are so grateful for your continued support!
October is moving quickly, with parent-teacher conferences coming up October 21–22 and our Harvest Parade and classroom parties on October 30. We also encourage families to support our Winter Clothing Drive, which continues through October 23.
Thank you for all the ways you support Greensview and help make our school such a special place. Your generosity, involvement, and school spirit truly make a difference!
Warm regards,
Jason Wulf
Principal

School Counseling
Hello Greensview Families,
School Counseling lessons are in full swing, and it has been such a joy to get to be in your child's classroom. We will learn about the following topics in October:
- Kindergarten and 1st: (1) Zones of Regulation introduction; (2) Coping skills for when I am in the Red Zone
- 2nd and 3rd grade: Creating a "feelings flipbook," highlighting triggers, physical sensations, coping skills, and positive self-talk statements to help me handle uncomfortable feelings
- 4th grade: Relational aggression
- 5th grade: Understanding why doing hard things, trying new things, and making mistakes are good for my brain
Woven into each lesson is Upper Arlington's Profile of an Engaged Learner, specifically, how we can be "Responsible and Resilient" when faced with challenges.
Please look for a paper take-home note after lessons highlighting our learning. You can also find a cumulative record of each month's parent notes here. I will update it as the year progresses.
Best,
Laura Kunkle, School Counselor

Digital Safety Presentation for Parents/Guardians
Upper Arlington Schools invites parents and guardians of students in grades K-12 to join internet safety expert Jesse Weinberger for an evening presentation on today’s digital environment and how families can support safe and responsible technology use. The presentation will build on age-appropriate digital safety presentations Weinberger will provide to students in grades 3-6, focused on digital citizenship, responsible technology use, online decision-making, and personal safety.
Wednesday, November 4, 2026
6:30–7:30 p.m.
Upper Arlington High School Performing Arts Center
In accordance with the presenter’s event requirements, this session is for adults only. Children and students ages 1–20 will not be admitted to the presentation space. Audio and video recording are also prohibited.
Title I Webinar
Our school receives federal funding through Title I to support reading programs. We invite you to join our annual Title I webinar on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:00 p.m. to learn more about this valuable program. Please click here to join the webinar and gain insight into how Title I benefits our students.
Building tour opportunities
On November 3, residents will vote on a combined operating levy and bond issue that would maintain the district’s current educational programming and fund the second phase of the facilities master plan, which calls for rebuilding Hastings Middle School and Burbank Early Childhood School as well as renovating and rebuilding Jones Middle School.
As residents consider Issue 7, we are providing opportunities to get a first-hand look inside each of these schools. All three buildings will be open on Thursday, October 8, with tours beginning at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
To learn more about the building tours or Issue 7, please click here.
Have you tried the Stop, Drop and Go Line in the morning?
As the weather begins to change this fall, we encourage families to use our Stop, Drop and Go line instead of parking and walking students into school. If you do not use the line regularly, now is a great time to practice the process with your child while the weather is still pleasant.
The drive through line is the safest way for kids to come to school. Avoid crossing the street, or using crosswalks if you can. I suggest arriving at 8:00-8:05, the Stop, Drop and Go line is practically EMPTY!
Please help your child prepare for a quick and safe exit by having all backpacks, coats, instruments, and other belongings ready before reaching the drop-off area. Students should be able to exit the vehicle and close the car door independently.
Children should never exit a vehicle into the street or walk between or around cars. This is incredibly dangerous.
We also ask drivers to be courteous to our neighbors by avoiding parking or stopping in front of driveways. Please do not turn around in driveways near the school. We have young students and families walking on the sidewalks during arrival, which makes this especially dangerous. Please take an extra minute to continue driving safely around the block.
Thank you for helping us keep arrival safe and efficient for everyone!
No bikes or scooters on athletic fields or tracks
Please remember that no bikes or scooters of any kind are permitted on tracks, grass athletic fields or artificial turf athletic fields, as they can cause significant damage to these surfaces.
To sign up to receive food for Thanksgiving and/or winter breaks, please complete this form by the end of the day on Monday, October 26, 2026. The school district will keep the information you provide in the form confidential unless you request otherwise.
Yearbook candid photos
It’s time to collect yearbook candid images for school. Every student will be featured with their school picture, but we are looking for group candid photos to include from various school sponsored events. These images could be from walking club, Walk for Greensview, Fall Family Fun night, field trips, and the Harvest/Winter parties. Please send your best 3-5 images from these events to greensviewyearbook@gmail.com
Dogs on School Property: Safety Reminder
While we know many students enjoy seeing their furry friends, dogs are not permitted on school property at any time, including during arrival and dismissal. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all students and staff.
If you're walking your dog to school for pick-up or drop-off, please wait on the perimeter sidewalks off school grounds. Your child can meet you there at the designated dismissal area.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school environment safe for everyone!
