Coach Harrell Enters Retirement

After 34.5 years at Mountainburg Schools, Coach Tom Harrell is entering retirement. Friday, December 17 was his last day.

Upon his retirement, he was the longest tenured head football coach in the state of Arkansas.

At a potluck lunch with MMS and MHS faculty and district administration, Dr. Atwell presented him with a plaque noting his service to the district. Coach Zach Dean, the new Dragons Head Football Coach and Mountainburg Athletic Director, presented a composite containing a photo of each team that Coach Harrell has been head coach of from 1990 through 2021.

Special thank you to Josh Harrell with Heritage Portraits for donating his time and talents to making the team composite happen.

Happy Retirement Coach Harrell - you have earned it!
