The Woodland Weekly
September 5th, 2025
For our new families, please note that our newsletter is actually bi-weekly!
Dear Woodland School Families,
Welcome to a brand-new school year at Woodland School! We are so excited to begin this journey together and look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and community. Whether you are returning to us or joining Woodland for the first time, we are thrilled to have you as part of our school family.
Our Focus This Year
At Woodland, we are dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every child feels valued and inspired to do their best. This year, we will continue to focus on academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and building a strong sense of community. We also plan to have a lot of fun!
Communication
We know that strong communication between home and school is essential. You can expect bi-weekly updates through the Woodland Weekly newsletter, as well as frequent information from your child’s classroom teacher. Please make sure we have your most up-to-date contact information so you don’t miss important announcements.
How Families Can Help
-
Establish routines at home (bedtime, reading time, homework habits).
-
Encourage a growth mindset—remind your child that mistakes are part of learning.
-
Stay involved! Join the PTO (information below), volunteer when you can, and connect with other Woodland families.
Looking Ahead
This year is full of possibilities, and we can’t wait to see our students learn and create. Thank you for entrusting us with your children—we are honored to be part of their educational journey.
Together, let’s make this school year one of curiosity, kindness, and success!
Warmly,
Emma and Kayla

Recess Info
For the first few weeks of school don't be surprised if your student says they could only play in one area at recess. Teachers spend a great deal of time in the first weeks of school establishing not only classroom routines, but hall, bathroom, lunch, and recess expectations as well. Students learn the rules of recess, safety expectations, and how to transition back to class. Once teachers are sure students are ready, they blend with other classes. For now, remind them that this is a great opportunity to make friends with new classmates!
