From the Principal's Desk:

Dear Salisbury Families:

It was an honor and a pleasure to host Salisbury's Town Meeting last Saturday in our school gym. We thought we might have set up a few too many chairs, but it was a very strong turnout, and we needed them! It's great to see our local traditions continue to rebound from COVID-caused weirdness.

Because Salisbury holds town meeting on Saturday afternoon, it made it easier for local dignitaries to come. State Representative Peter Conlon (Clerk of the House Committee on Education) and State Senator Ruth Hardy (Chair of the Senate Committee on Government Operations) both spoke to the audience before town business got underway, and folks enjoyed some social time and food afterword. Thanks to everyone who came, and thanks to the different groups that set up informational tables! It was clearly a great event.

A thank you as well to our town officials, our Fire Department and our local EMT squads- our community is much stronger because of all of you.

Please read below for important information and fun pictures!

Sincerely,

Bjarki

Information from 5th Grade KEEC and Exhibition Info Session

On Wednesday evening we held an information session for 5th Grade students and parents about both the 5th Grade "IB Exhibition" and KEEC, the weeklong outdoor education program our students participate in on Lake Dunmore in May.

If you are interested learning more, even if your child is not yet a 5th grader (maybe ESPECIALLY if they are not yet a 5th grader) you can look over the slideshow (linked below) that we shared at the meeting.

Fun Focus: Legos in the Library

On Mondays, and rainy days, we offer a special option during recess: Legos in the library! Students are able to spend their time building away to their heart's content. Librarian Megan Sutton has set up an awesome system where students are able to keep the Legos they are working with for the next week, so they don't need to start over each time. And thanks to donations over time, we have a pretty awesome collection!

Information on Pre-School Enrollment for 24-25 School Year:

ACSD Preschool Enrollment: If you have a child who will be 3 by Sept 1, 2024 and needs preschool placement, please fill out the preschool interest survey by the end of March. ACSD has two school-based programs: Mary Hogan and Bridport. Space is extremely limited, so we also encourage you to consider other preschool options. ACSD partners with prequalified private preschool programs to pay tuition for 10 hours/week, 35 weeks/year of preschool. This means your child could receive a tuition discount at a private preschool. Your first step is to enroll with the program directly. They will help you to complete the preschool tuition paperwork. Visit this site for more about which local programs have met the quality standards for partnership or contact Meg Baker at mbaker@acsdvt.org or 382-0045
