MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Greetings Lindblom MSA Eagles,
We are ready for the start of the year. Please pay careful attention to our bell schedule for this week. All students are expected to bring their CPS-issued Chromebooks to school every day. If your incoming HS student did not receive their device during orientation, they can report to the social room to pick one up. We look forward to seeing you bright and early on Monday!
Together we strive for excellence!

Academic Decathlon Interest
Calling 9th and 10th graders! Academic Decathlon is excited to add more folks to our team. The United States Academic Decathlon (USAD) is a team-based academic competition for high school students. It emphasizes academic excellence across a wide range of subjects, and the year's focus is on travel and transportation! We will hold an after school info session on August 27th in RM220 at 3:15pm. Any questions? Reach out to Ms. Soto Perales at csotoperales1@cps.edu
Student Spotlight
Taylor Marie Williams (SW27P) had an incredibly productive summer exploring interests across both finance and medicine. She was selected to participate in DePaul University's Summer Investment Challenge. The program gave high school students a hands-on introduction to the world of finance, culminating in a stock pitch presentation before a distinguished panel of judges. Students delivered detailed industry overviews, analyzed competitive positioning and risk, and assessed upside potential for their chosen companies.
Taylor also earned acceptance into the Medical Careers Exposure and Emergency Preparedness Pipeline Initiative at The University of Chicago Medical Center, hosted by emergency medicine physician Dr. Abdullah Pratt. Through this program, students were actively immersed in medical career pathways and gained hands-on training in emergency preparedness, including response skills for strokes, cardiac arrest, and penetrating wounds. Taylor successfully completed the full program, walking away with meaningful exposure to the demands and rewards of careers in medicine.
Anthony Williams (SW29P) and Xaoquin Frausto-Morales (SW29P) completed a service learning project that caught the attention of elected officials this summer. They presented their Midway Trail proposal with such passion and poise, and we are so proud of them.

Chromebook Updates
We want our students to Be Empowered - WITH CHROMEBOOKS! This is an important tool as a majority of our learning and testing is done on these devices. With the world wide web at their fingertips our students will Be Empowered with the knowledge to do anything they desire.
For the first week of school Technology Coordinator Mr. Crawford will be stationed in the social room handing out Chromebooks to new students during every lunch period.
