A Note from Mrs. Solomon and Mrs. Salto
It's been a packed short week of learning! Today is the end of Trimester 2 and we head into the last trimester of the school year!
Just a little reminder: while we had a wonderful little gift of nice weather it is still winter. Please be sure students are coming to school dressed for outside. We always want to be sure our students are prepared and ready no matter what mother nature sends our way. It looks like March is going to come in like a lion ;0).
We could really use family support to help our students practice their responsibilities. It would be helpful if families could help their children be sure their Chromebooks are charged and ready for the school day. With state testing in the coming weeks, it would be great practice for our students to plug in nightly and come ready to use their Chromebook just in case. Thank you for your support.
Next week has some different scheduling pieces: Thursday is a half-day for students. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm, NO LUNCH will be served on Thursday. Friday is a SIP day for staff, there is no school for students next Friday, February 27th.
Have a wonderful weekend!

5 Essentials Survey
Each year D303 participates in the 5Essentials Survey. This survey is completed by parents, staff and students in grades 4-11. You can find information regarding the survey here , including the link to complete the survey. We strive for as much participation as possible, so if you can take the time to complete the survey, it would be greatly appreciated. Our 4th and 5th grade students will complete their survey during the day with their classroom teacher. You can find the parent survey here.
For additional information, please visit our D303 5Essentials page.
The survey window will close on March 13, 2026.

ATTENDANCE POLICY UPDATES
D303 Attendance Procedures Update
District 303 attendance procedures were updated and approved at the June 9, 2025, Board Meeting. All district procedures are available in the CUSD 303 Student Handbook found in the Parent/Community tab in the Information column of the districtd303.org website.
Updates to the attendance procedures were made to bring consistency across all schools within the district and to clarify student attendance expectations. One example of an update is the removal of the pre-arranged absence procedure. This aligns with the definitions of excused and unexcused absences found in Section 2.2.
NEW VACATION POLICY:
The pre-arranged absence form and procedure are no longer in use
Vacations during school days are discouraged and will be considered unexcused absences
This change aligns with our commitment to maximizing instructional time for all students
We recognize that families sometimes need flexibility for travel or special circumstances. While we strongly encourage scheduling family trips during school breaks and holidays, we understand that this isn't always possible. We ask for your partnership in minimizing absences during the school year whenever feasible.
Families are encouraged to review the CUSD 303 Student Handbook to familiarize themselves with the districtwide procedures.
