Primary School Weekly Update
October 30, 2026
Principal's message
What a wonderful week we have had here at the Primary School! Spirit Week was filled with fun, laughter, school spirit, and lots of excitement. We wrapped up the week with our Character Parade today, and it was such a joy to see all of the creative storybook characters come to life! I love seeing the excitement and smiles on the children's faces as they show off their costumes.
We also took some time during our celebration to recognize our Students of the Month and our Cassicus Comfort Dog Award winners. Congratulations to all of our students who were recognized! We are so proud of you and love celebrating the wonderful things our students do each and every day.
As we head into the weekend, if your child seems a little off, extra tired, emotional, or perhaps has a shorter fuse than usual, there may be a few reasons! Between the full moon, Halloween excitement, and the end of daylight saving time (don't forget to turn those clocks back on Sunday!), there is a lot happening all at once. All of this excitement and changes in routine can sometimes impact children's sleep, energy levels, and behaviors. You may notice some extra wiggles, bigger emotions, or difficulty settling down. A little extra patience, grace, and rest may be just what everyone needs!
Even with all of these fun events and celebrations, we have been busy learning! Our classrooms have been filled with hands-on activities, engaging lessons, opportunities to work together, and lots of exploring and discovering. It is always wonderful to see our students so engaged, curious, and excited about their learning.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween weekend! Enjoy the celebrations, take in those special moments, and hopefully enjoy that extra hour of sleep on Sunday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next week!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Kindly,
Principal Squier

🇺🇸 Veterans Day Assembly – Honoring Our Heroes
We are busy preparing for our upcoming Veterans Day assembly to be held on November 10th, and we would love your help in recognizing the special military members in our school community. If you have a family member who is currently serving in the military or is a veteran and would like them to join us as a Guest of Honor, please complete the assembly link below.
This event is open to families, and we look forward to coming together as a school community to honor and thank those who have served and continue to serve our country.
November Breakfast and Lunch Menus
School Day
The school day starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:20 PM. It is very important that your child be on time for school each day. He/she must be in their classroom at 9:00 AM for attendance. The beginning of each day is important to set the tone and to make sure your child feels they are a part of the classroom learning community. Should a situation arise that necessitates your child arrive late to school (after 9:00 AM), you must park in the lot, accompany your child into the school office and sign him/her in at the front office/lobby. (Please do not park in the Fire Lane)
Absent/Dismissal/Change of Day Plans
Parents MUST send an email to your child’s teacher AND primaryoffice@lunenburgschools.net in the morning. Please date your letter, including your child’s full name, and indicate what the change in arrangement is. The Primary School will only accept telephone calls to change a child’s after school arrangements, or to dismiss a child early in the case of an emergency.
Lunch Program
Lunches are free again this year. Please review with your child if they will be having lunch from the cafeteria or eating a lunch that you prepared. Lunch menus are posted monthly on the website and will be sent home in weekly communication.
Vehicle Traffic: State Law does not allow motorists to pass a bus while loading or discharging passengers even in the school parking lot. A speed limit of 10 mph must be adhered to while driving in our parking areas.
Weekly Communication
Weekly communication will come out by the end of day on Friday's as consistently as possible. However, there maybe times in which this communication comes out on Saturday.
The weekly communication will contain general information such as important dates, procedural reminders and highlights from the week. In addition, the need may arise to send out other communications during the week.
