Principal Mata-Tausch's Note...
Starting Strong Cougars!
๐๐พ A Message from the Principal ๐พ๐
Brauchle Families,
Can you believe we are already beginning our 8th week of school?! Time has absolutely flown by, and there have already been SO many fabulous things happening at Brauchle! ๐
From the energy and excitement in our classrooms, to our family events, celebrations, and our amazing START Strong Pep Rally, our campus has been BUSYโand we wouldnโt have it any other way! There is truly something special about seeing our students excited to come to school, learn, grow, and be part of our Brauchle family.
Behind the scenes, our teachers and staff are working incredibly hard each and every day to make certain that ALL of our students continue to be successful. We are looking closely at student data, planning meaningful instruction, providing additional support when needed, and continually asking ourselves, โWhat does each student need from us next?โ
Most importantly, we want our Cougars to know that we believe in them! We want them to take chances, work through challenges, celebrate their growth, and understand that success doesn't happen overnight. It comes from showing up, working hard, and continuing to move forwardโeven when something feels difficult.
And families, THANK YOU! ๐ Thank you for partnering with us, supporting your children at home, attending our events, communicating with us, and trusting us with your most precious gifts. The partnership between home and school matters, and we are incredibly grateful to have such a supportive Brauchle community.
We have accomplished so much in just eight weeks, and we are only getting started!
As we continue moving forward, we will keep encouraging our Cougars to...
๐ START Strong.
๐ STAY Strong.
๐ FINISH Strong.
We are One Team. One Goal. DRIVEN with a Purpose!
Thank you for being such an important part of our Brauchle family. We are so proud of our Cougars and cannot wait to see all that they accomplish this year!
With Cougar Pride,

๐ WORLD BULLY FREE DAY ๐
๐ WORLD BULLY FREE DAY ๐
On Monday, October 5th, Brauchle will celebrate World Bully Free Day! ๐พ๐ We are asking all of our Cougars to WEAR BLUE as we stand together for kindness, respect, inclusion, and friendship!
Throughout the day, our students will participate in fun and meaningful bully-prevention and kindness activities with their classes. Our goal is to remind every Cougar that their words and actions matterโand that each of us can help make Brauchle a place where EVERYONE feels safe, valued, included, and loved. ๐
๐ Be Kind. Be Respectful. Include Others. Be a Friend. Choose Kindness.
Letโs fill Brauchle with BLUE and show everyone that COUGARS STAND TOGETHER! ๐พ๐
ONE TEAM. ONE GOAL. ONE PROUD BRAUCHLE FAMILY. โค๏ธ๐พ๐
WE NEED YOUR HELP ASAP PLEASE... HELP BRAUCHLE STAY TITLE 1!
๐พ Brauchle Families โ We Need Your Help! โค๏ธ
Brauchle is still not projected to qualify for Title I funding next school year, and every CEP Form matters!
If you havenโt completed yours yet, please take a few minutes to do so. Even if you think your family may not qualify, we still need your form completed.
CEP information helps determine funding for staffing, tutoring, instructional resources, technology, books, and more for our Cougars.
๐พ Complete your CEP Form today: ecep.nisd.net
Our goal: 100% of Brauchle families complete the form! โค๏ธ
One Campus. One Community. Every Form Counts! ๐พ๐
Lunch with your child..
We are always happy to see our Brauchle families on campus! If you are stopping by to have lunch with your Cougar, we appreciate your help in keeping our lunchtime routines running smoothly.
๐ A few friendly reminders:
Families are welcome to enjoy lunch with their child on the cafeteria stage. To help us maintain appropriate supervision, students must remain with their assigned class unless they are eating with their own parent or guardian. Please do not invite other students to join your lunch, even when permission has been provided by another family.
When your childโs lunch period ends, they will rejoin their class and return with their teacher or classmates. We ask that visitors not accompany students back to classrooms.
Before heading out, please stop by the front office to check out.
Thank you for helping us protect instructional time, maintain campus safety, and still make room for those special lunchtime moments with your Cougar! ๐๐พ
We love having our families at Brauchle!
Attendance Updates
๐พ Every Day Counts at Brauchle!
Attendance is a true partnership between home and school! ๐ When our Cougars are at school each day and on time, they stay connected to learning, their teachers, and their classmates.
Our Attendance Progress:
Week 1: 97.8% ๐
Week 2: 95.7%
Week 3: 95.5%
Week 4: 95.4%
Week 5: 95.3%
Week 6: 95.1%
Week 7: 95.0%
๐ฏ Our Goal: 96% or higher!
We understand that children get sick and there are times when they need to stay home. When your child is healthy, we ask for your partnership in making regular and on-time attendance a priority. At school, we will continue doing our part to make Brauchle a place where students feel welcomed, supported, and excited to learn each day!
If your family is experiencing a barrier that is making regular attendance difficult, please reach out to us. We are here to partner with you and help.
Together, home + school can make a difference! Every day matters, every minute counts, and every Cougar belongs at Brauchle! ๐พ๐

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN AT OUR ATTENDANCE FRENZY!! GAMES, PLAYING, AND SNACKS, OH MY!
๐ก๏ธ Safety & Security at Brauchle
The safety and security of our students, staff, and families continues to be our number one priority at Brauchle. We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment each and every day.
Campus Entry & Visitors
The designated point of entry and exit for all visitors is through our security lobby. All visitors must check in through the front office and present a valid ID. We will continue to use the Raptor Visitor Management System to verify and clear all visitors before they are permitted to enter the campus.
If you plan to walk onto campus, you will need to either:
- Check in through the front office to receive a Raptor visitor badge, OR
- Complete a Fast Pass so your badge can be pre-printed and ready for you upon arrival.
All visitors must also exit the campus through the security lobby doors.
Safety Drills
Throughout the school year, our students and staff will participate in required fire, lockdown, and other safety drills. These drills are an important part of ensuring everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency.
Anytime we conduct a lockdown/safety drill, campus administration will notify families through ClassDojo, and teachers will also communicate with their families.
Campus Security
Our administration and custodial teams work closely together to routinely monitor our campus and ensure exterior and interior doors are secure and functioning properly.
We appreciate our families working alongside us and following all campus safety procedures. Keeping Brauchle safe is a shared responsibility, and we are grateful for your partnership.
We also encourage families to visit NISD's Safety & Security webpage for district safety information and updates. We will continue to keep our Brauchle families informed throughout the school year.
NISD SCHOOL BOND 2026 INFO.
At its August 11 Board meeting, the NISD Board voted to place a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) and several bond packages on the Nov. 3 ballot. The first, Proposition A, is a Voter Approval Tax Rate Election, or VATRE, asking voters to approve a three-cent increase in the maintenance and operations tax rate, roughly $30 more per year for every $100,000 in home value.
The three bond packages (Propositions B, C, and D) total just over $886 million. While the VATRE funds daily operations such as salaries and utilities, bonds finance capital expenses such as construction and renovations.
MAP TESTING FIRST ROUND DONE!
NWEA MAP Testing
The first round of MAP testing is complete! Our Cougars worked hard and gave their best effort on both the reading and math assessments. We are proud of their dedication and will continue to challenge and support each student as they grow and work toward their academic goals.
Families should have received a MAP Family Report showing their childโs results. These assessments help us monitor academic progress, celebrate growth, and identify areas where additional instruction or support may be needed. Most importantly, they help teachers understand what each student is ready to learn next.
MAP results may also be considered alongside other information during the Gifted and Talented identification process. Student growth data may serve as one of the measures used in Northsideโs Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) system.
To learn more about MAP testing and how to support your child, explore the helpful resources in the NWEA Family Toolkit. Please reach out to your childโs teacher with any questions about their report.
Thank you for partnering with us to help every Cougar learn, grow, and succeed! ๐๐พ
