Hello Garcia Families,

This past week students celebrated Veteran's Day, worked with the Brandeis band, began basketball practices, and had fun each day raising money for our school! We are only a few days away from Thanksgiving break, and look forward to sharing some downtown with our families. We hope you all can do the same next week.

We have begun our annual canned food drive which benefits the Food Bank. Each year we play a dodgeball tournament to raise food donations for the food bank. We typically raise the most amount of food of any campus in the city! See the flyer below. Service we such a big part of our namesake's legacy, and we are proud to follow in his footsteps to help those in need. #belikehector Each year we raise the most amount of canned goods of any school in the city! We are grateful to have such a positive impact on our community!

We officially begun our school wide fundraiser! This is our annual school wide fundraiser we do in conjunction with PTA to raise money for our students! Students benefit from school improvements like our student centers, and classroom enhancements. In years past we have purchased remote control sphyros for GT, VR goggles for history, flexible seating for many classrooms, LED lighting for classrooms, and MUCH more! We do this through the Apex Color Battle! Students purchase color packs via an app as the fundraiser and then participate in a color battle during 8th period on Nov. 22! It is SOOOO fun. . . . . and messy! I have attached the information regarding our fundraiser below. Our kick off event is on Tuesday Nov. 12 during all PE, dance and healthy habits classes. Check out the info below!

Have a great weekend!
