Dear Bixby School Parents/Guardians:

February was certainly a snowy month! We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we navigated school closures and delays due to the weather. During February, we enjoyed our Valentine’s Day celebrations. The PTO also hosted their Sweetheart Dance, which was a tremendous success. We are so grateful to the parent volunteers who helped organize and run this special event. The students were very excited to attend, and it was truly a wonderful evening for all who participated.

As we enter March, we look forward to celebrating Read Across America Week with fun spirit days and activities that promote a love of reading throughout our school community. We also look forward to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and the joy it brings to our students.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to another wonderful month ahead at Bixby School.

Each month the students of Bixby School work very hard to win either the character education award or the student of the month award. For the character education award, students were chosen who display qualities of compassion. The students receive certificates of achievement, an Applebee's gift certificate and a picture with the principal. Each class selects two students monthly to win this award. Congratulations to ALL!

The character trait for March will be Honesty.

We are proud to recognize Mrs. Neilsen as our Staff Member of the Month! An exceptional second grade teacher, Mrs. Neilsen truly cares about her students and consistently goes above and beyond to support both their academic and personal growth. Her classroom is warm, engaging, and well-structured, creating an environment where students feel confident, safe, and valued each day. Mrs. Neilsen’s patience and kindness help her students build confidence and develop a love of learning. In addition to her dedication to students, Mrs. Neilsen is a supportive colleague and true team player. She is always willing to share ideas, collaborate with others, and lend a helping hand wherever needed. She has demonstrated unwavering professionalism and adaptability, meeting the diverse needs of her students—all with a smile on her face. Our school community is stronger because of Mrs. Neilsen’s dedication, positivity, and heart for teaching. She is truly deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Mrs. Neilsen!

We are proud to recognize Mr. Brugger as our Paraprofessional of the Month. Mr. Brugger does an outstanding job supporting both our students and teachers each day, and he is always willing to help with anything that is asked of him. His strong work ethic and dependable nature make him an invaluable member of our school community. Mr. Brugger is fantastic with the students—he is understanding, compassionate, friendly, and always cheerful. Students truly enjoy working with him, and his positive attitude helps create a supportive and welcoming environment for everyone. We are so grateful for his dedication and all that he does for our school.

March 20th - No school

The PTO is a group of parents, teachers and staff who are dedicated to making sure our students have enriched opportunities while attending Bixby school. The PTO has provided financial support for field trips, teacher appreciation week gifts/treats, laser light shows, and much more! By being a PAID registered member, you are indicating to us that you want to join with us in our mission to enrich the lives of ALL Bixby students.

The next PTO meeting will be March 11th at 7pm in the Media Center. A virtual link will be sent the day of the meeting.
