2025 OLVCS Walk-A-Thon

-Walk-A-Thon provides necessary funds for:

• Safety and Security Needs
• Curricular Materials and Academic Programs
• Technology like Promethean Boards and Chromebooks
• Athletics Programs
• Arts and Fine Arts Programs
• Faith-centered Activities
• Teacher Supplies
• Merit Scholarships
• Student Activities and Clubs
• Recess Equipment
• Field Trips
• Facility Needs and Upgrades

-We are dedicated to reaching 100% family participation.

-Our fundraising goal for the 2025 Walk-A-Thon is $75,000.

-This is our ONLY fundraiser. You won't be asked to sell anything all year.

-Special Note: Last year's top family donation incentive–the opportunity to name the street in front of the school–was awarded to the Heinz family. We are excited to share that the street will remain named Heinz Way through next year's Walk-A-Thon.

-This year's new top incentive is the opportunity to name the school courtyard for one year in honor of your family or in memory of someone special.

-All donations are due by October 1st, 2025 in order to count toward family eligibility for prizes.

-Prizes are awarded at the Walk-A-Thon pep rally on October, 7th!

-The fun, energy, and excitement of the OLV Day Pep Rally is one of the great moments of the entire school year!

-Prize categories include:

• Top Total Earners
• Middle School Run Winners
• Coin Collection Class Winner
• Homeroom Classes To Get To 100% Participation The Fastest
• Highest Number Of Donations In Family Name
• Many Random Pull Prizes For Any Student Raising At Least $200

-Get out there and start earning and maybe your child and/or family will be a winner!

-The faster your family turns in your donations the higher the likelihood of your child receiving one of the great gifts from one of our many in-kind donors!

-All donations are due by Tuesday, October 1, 2025* to count towards students' eligibility for individual and class prizes.

-Donate at www.olvcatholicschool.org/walkathon.

• Our online donation system makes it very easy for you and your family members near and far to donate towards your $200 minimum.
• The above website can be included into an email, text, or letter to your family or friends.

-Donate by scanning the QR code.

-An envelope will be included in the Preschool-8th grade communication packet that will be sent home with your youngest child at the end of this week.

-Please use your envelope to collect and keep track of your donations in order to meet your $200 goal.

-We encourage parents to involve children in this fundraising process. In the past, students have:

• had a lemonade stand
• washed cars
• had a yard sale
• mowed lawns
• walked dogs

-Business sponsorships are also available at www.olvcatholicschool.org/walkathon.

*A letter will be sent home on September 24th, 2025 to inform you of your current family donation total to date.

• All students will be given a special Walk-A-Thon t-shirt to wear for the day free of charge. Students will change after mass.
• A special school mass at 9:00am. All families are encouraged to attend.
• Elementary and Middle school students will participate in a service project after mass.
• After lunch, the school will unite outside, and elementary students will walk in the adjacent neighborhood. Middle school student will participate in a run.
• The day will conclude with a pep rally, prize giveaway, and grand total reveal.
• Families are encouraged to join us for the walk and the pep rally. Clearances are not needed to join us for the walk and/or the pep rally.
• The preschool will schedule and plan their own special events and walk for the day. Details will be sent home in the near future.

• Coin Drive - September 15th - September 18th. Send in your loose change to benefit the Walk-A-Thon! The homeroom that collects the most change wins a special party!
• Dollar Dress Down Day - September 26th. Bring in a $1 to dress down for the day! The dress down dress code must be followed!
• OLVCS Day at the Field - Monday, January 19th - The Field Gives Back - 11:00am-9:00pm - a portion of ALL sales (eat-in and take-out) will be donated to the OLVCS Walk-A-Thon. There is no school on this day! It's a perfect opportunity to enjoy a fun lunch or dinner from The Field! The Field Burger and Tap is located in the Toftrees Golf Resort at 1 Country Club Lane, State College, PA 16803.
