King's Highway Families,

As we move through another exciting month at school, we want to thank our families for their continued support and partnership. This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow is a half-day for students. We are also looking forward to our Fall into Reading Tailgate Night on October 22, a wonderful opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the joy of reading. Be sure to mark your calendars for one of our favorite traditions of the year as well, our Harvest Day Parades at the end of the month! We hope to see many families joining us for these special events as we continue to build a strong and connected school community.

Pink Fridays in October: Show your school spirit and support as we honor awareness this month by wearing PINK every Friday throughout October.

Clubs and Pick Up Patrol Clubs and Pick Up Patrol

As student clubs and after-school activities get underway, please remember to update PickUp Patrol whenever your child's dismissal plans change. This is the quickest and most reliable way to communicate transportation and dismissal needs to our school staff and helps ensure every student gets where they need to be safely.

If your child will be staying after school for a club or activity, please make sure that information is entered in PickUp Patrol in advance. If you need assistance setting up your account or updating your default dismissal plan, please contact our office at KHoffice@casdschools.org. Thank you for helping us make dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient for all students!

Club dismissal will be moving to the GYM - please pull around back (just like school dismissal)

Spanish Club Spanish Club

King’s Highway Families,

We are excited to announce the return of our Spanish Club at King’s Highway Elementary this year! This is a great opportunity for students to explore language and culture in a supportive environment. Through interactive activities such as games, music, movement, crafts, and storytelling, students will build basic Spanish vocabulary, practice conversational skills, and develop a deeper appreciation for Hispanic culture.

All students are invited to join, and no prior experience with Spanish is required. The Spanish Club will meet after school on select Wednesdays in the library until 5:00 PM. Parents must ensure that their child is picked up promptly at 5:00 PM after each session. Students who are consistently picked up late may not be eligible to attend future club sessions.

Spanish Club Session Dates:

• October 21

• November 11

• December 2

• January 6

• January 27

• February 10

• March 3

Spanish Club Enrollment Form

Because we anticipate high interest, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of 20 students. Please confirm that your child will be available for the session dates listed above before enrolling your child in the Spanish club. Next, to secure a spot for your child, complete the Google form linked via the QR code above. A follow-up email will be sent to the families of students who are selected for the club with additional details and reminders about the program.

Thank you in advance for supporting your child's participation in this exploration and celebration of Hispanic language and culture! If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact Miss Kaptur via email at kapturh@casdschools.org.

Thank You Wagontown Fire Company

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Wagontown Fire Company for spending the day with our students. Their visit provided an exciting and educational experience for everyone involved. Students had the opportunity to see the fire trucks up close during recess, explore the equipment firefighters use, and learn about fire safety firsthand. Firefighters also visited classrooms to share information about their important work and answer students' questions. We are grateful for their partnership and for taking the time to make learning come alive for our students in such a memorable way!

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Every school day counts! When students attend school regularly, they build strong academic habits, develop meaningful relationships, and stay connected to their learning community. At Coatesville Area School District, we encourage families to make attendance a priority whenever possible, as even a few missed days can result in important missed learning opportunities. Consistent attendance helps students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while setting the foundation for long-term success.

If your child will be absent, please notify the school office as soon as possible on the day of the absence. Upon your child's return, send a written excuse within three school days so the absence can be properly documented. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child is present, engaged, and ready to learn each day. Together, we can make every school day count!
