Classroom Connections 💡
Last week, some of our 3rd grade classes constructed themed balloons in honor of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Below you will find a video from Mrs. Johnston's students showing them off before their parade here at school!
Second grade authors have been working on writing informative texts this past month, specifically focusing on introducing a topic, providing facts to support it and ending with a conluding statement. Below you will find one written on ocean animals from a student in Mrs. Jacko's class.
Third Grade artists from Mrs. Andrews' class used different drawing and sketching tools to create these Sunflower Masterpieces!
Ms. Orlowski's BOOK CLUB was so popular, she had to form two groups. I loved spending time with her group that is reading Flora & Ulysses. They meet monthly to discuss the book and share their thoughts!
Kindness Tree
Here at Maple, KIND acts help us grow!!! Students that are "caught being kind" are nominated for a Kindness Leaf. Students decorate the leaf, add it to our tree and are pictured below!

Maple PTA News
The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Students are encouraged to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice - dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts - reflecting on a specific theme. There also is a special artist division option for students with disabilities to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in the program. Students are recognized each year for their artistic ingenuity to bring the theme to life in a way that is personal and meaningful. This years theme is "Accepting Imperfections". The entry form is attached below.
