Bulldog Bites
September 13th, 2026
Dear SGF Families,
A message from our superintendent of schools Dr. Michele Whitley
I am so thankful to welcome you all to the first Bulldog Bites of the 2026-27 school year. It has been wonderful to see our hallways and classrooms filled with energy once again as students return and reconnect with friends, teachers, and staff. The start of a new school year always brings a sense of excitement, possibility, and fresh opportunities for learning and growth.
This year’s opening also holds special meaning for me, as it marked my very first first day of school at South Glens Falls. I have already been inspired by the warm welcome I have received and by the pride, dedication, and sense of community that make our district so special. Seeing our students arrive eager to learn and our staff ready to support them has only reinforced how excited I am to be part of the Bulldog family.
We are so happy to have our students back in our classrooms and to begin another year of supporting their academic, social, and personal success. Thank you to our families, faculty, and staff for everything you have done to help make the opening of school a smooth and successful one. We look forward to sharing highlights, celebrating achievements, and keeping you informed throughout the year in future editions of Bulldog Bites. Together, let's make the 2026-27 school year our best one yet!
Our First Day
Senior Sunrise
Our seniors capped off their first week by gathering to watch the sunrise at South High.
Tournament Trip
The girl’s varsity soccer team recently traveled for the Sports Writer’s Tournament, competing in matches against Waverly and Bishop Ludden/Grimes high schools. Off the field, the team strengthened bonds over shared meals and downtime at the hotel pool. Special thanks to Coach Philo for organizing a successful and memorable trip.
A Special Visit
Members of the class of 1961 took a tour of Oliver W. Winch Middle School this week to celebrate the 65th anniversary of their graduation from SGF.
