New Dragon Gear is On the Way!
Meet Mrs. Ferguson - MMS Principal
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the new principal of Mountainburg Middle School Brain Academy. I am truly honored to become a part of the Mountainburg family and community. I can tell that it is a unique and special place, and I am excited to be able to become a part of it.
I come to you with 22 years of experience as an educator. I spent those 22 years teaching grades 1st through 4th grades. My love is literacy and I enjoy sharing my love of books and reading with students. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of North Texas, a Master’s in Educational Technology from the University of Arkansas, a Master’s in Reading from Arkansas State University, and I will receive a Master’s in Educational Leadership in December from the University of Arkansas. I am a member of the IMPACT Fellowship program from the University of Arkansas. I also have National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy. I have certifications as a reading specialist and dyslexia coach. I am a designated Lead Professional Educator.
On a personal note, my husband and I both grew up in Alma. Next year we will celebrate 29 years of marriage. We have two wonderful children. Our daughter, Sydney, graduated last year from the University of Arkansas with her degree in business. She is working for an insurance office in Fayetteville. Our son, Joshua, is a junior at the University of Arkansas majoring in Sports Management. He will be working with the Razorback football program this fall.
I am truly honored to be given this opportunity and am looking forward to being a part of this school and community. I believe in supporting our teachers and helping them succeed, so they, in turn, can help our students to succeed. I look forward to meeting everyone and can’t wait to get this school year started!
Sincerely,
Julie Ferguson
Athletic Physicals and DragonFly Registration
Friendly Reminders for Parents of Dragon Athletes:
1. Physical - Every athlete in grades 7th-12th must have a physical before they can participate in their respective sports. Mountainburg Family Clinic will do an athletic physical for $25.00.
2. Complete the DragonFly registration for each athlete. The physical form will need to be uploaded into DragonFly. This can be done by scanning it or taking a picture of it. If the form is two-sided, both sides need to be uploaded.
If you have any questions, please email Coach Dean - zach.dean@mountainburg.org.
