SPOTSYCTC WEEKLY UPDATE
The Week Ending MARCH 31, 2023
Principal's Message
Good Friday Evening SPOTSYCTC Family!
What another great week at SpotsyCTC!
I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of our students, staff and parents; without you, we couldn't do the things we do. Please remember April 7th and 10th are student/staff holidays.
All SpotsyCTC programs incorporate 21st Century Workplace Readiness Skills. Instructors integrate the 22 Workplace Skills that were identified by Virginia Employers in their daily, weekly and monthly lessons. These skills are broken down into three categories: Personal Qualities and Abilities, Interpersonal Skills and Professional Competencies. Each week, we will highlight one of the 22 Workplace Readiness Skills, please see our career section for this week's highlight. For more information on Virginia 21st Century Workplace Readiness Skills, please go to https://www.cteresource.org/resources/workplace-readiness-skills/
SpotsyCTC we are very unique; we serve students from all five of our outstanding high schools and offer 19 different programs with 9 different pathways and 14 industry recognized credentials. Our mission is to have every student ready for either the workforce, post-secondary education, a training program or the military. Students have the opportunity to participate in hands-on, real world classroom environments while getting involved in Workplace Learning, Job Shadowing, Internship/Externships, Student Organizations and many other opportunities. Bi-Weekly, I will spotlight one of our excellent programs. This edition, we are spotlighting our Early Childhood Education. Please see the program spotlight section below for more information.
Good luck to all of our students who are participating in activities this weekend and next week. I know we have so many students who are involved in the fine arts, sports, clubs, outside events and other extracurricular activities. It takes a lot of work, many hours of preparation and a balance of school, home and sometimes work. Good Luck and continued success and keep Leveling UP!
I know I speak for my entire staff when I say, we really enjoy seeing our students in our building every day, it really is one of the best feelings and what makes it even better is our students want and enjoy being here. We are committed to supporting the learning of all of our students. Please have a great weekend! Take the time to relax and enjoy family and friends. We will see everyone back on Monday,
