PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, September 19th
We finished MAP testing this week and everything went smoothly. We appreciate your partnership in minimizing absences and helping your child be well rested for their test. Score reports will be sent home via email on September 26th.
Our Music for Youth program performed for us on Thursday morning and we enjoyed listening to our Patton students perform as well as students from other District 25 schools. We would love to start every day this way! I am so proud of the Panthers who shared their musical talent!
Please remember that school will be CLOSED on Tuesday, September 23rd! Wishing an enjoyable Shana Tova to all our families who celebrate!
Thank you,
Ellie Chin
WELCOME MRS ZHANETA ROURA: TECH FACILITATOR (NEW POST!)
We are delighted to welcome our new Tech Facilitator, Mrs. Zhaneta Roura, to Patton! Mrs. Roura has worked as a guest teacher in the district for a long time and knows Patton very well! We are so excited to have her as part of our staff!
Hello, Patton community! I am very happy to join such a wonderful group of students and staff. It is exciting getting to collaborate with everyone to embrace many fun and engaging technology tools!
My husband and I live in Arlington Heights with our two sons - one is a senior in college and the other is in high school. I was born and raised in Bulgaria, but my sense of adventure brought me to the United States over 20 years ago. Fun fact about me: I have lived in six different states prior to coming to Illinois! I enjoy traveling and visiting new places and I love skiing and outdoor adventures.
Over the past few years, my time spent in District 25 has been as both a guest teacher and a teaching assistant at Ivy Hill. It has been very rewarding. I am passionate about helping students build the courage and confidence to try new things and I am looking forward to making a positive impact here at Patton!
EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION TEST (NEW POST!)
Emergency Notification TEST next Thursday, September 25
District 25 will send out a TEST message of our emergency alert system on Thursday, September 25 at 6pm. This message will be a phone call, text message, and email. If you do not receive this test within 30 minutes of 6pm, please email our Head of Communications & Storytelling, Adam Harris (aharris@sd25.org).
STUDENT COUNCIL - SPIRIT DAY: FRIDAY, SEPT., 26th (NEW POST!)
Student Council will be hosting the first Spirit Day of the school year next Friday! Let's celebrate the transition to fall (even if the weather still feels like summer) by dressing in our favorite fall outfits and colors!
1st & 2nd GRADE FAMILY NIGHT (NEW POST!)
We hope many 1st and 2nd grade families can attend this PTA Sponsored Family Night next Friday! It is a great way for new friends and families to connect. The PTA volunteers plan these events and create fun and lasting memories for our students. Please add it to your calendar and we hope to see you there!
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES - THURS, OCT., 23rd & FRI, OCT., 24th (NEW POST!)
Fall conferences will take place on Thursday, October 23rd and Friday, October 24th. School will NOT be in session on these dates. Conference times are available on Thursday morning, afternoon, and evening as well as Friday morning. Each conference is scheduled for 20 minutes.
The Signup Genius will go live on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th at 7:00 pm. You will be emailed the link directly.
These conferences are always a great way for you to connect with your child(ren)'s teacher, spend time in the classroom and hear about your child's school life and how they are progressing this year! We appreciate the ongoing partnership and collaboration that is shared in the Patton community. Please note that there is only one conference time slot for each student.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents: The conference times are for meeting with your child's homeroom teacher. If your child has a different teacher for math and you have specific math questions, please email him or her directly.
LOST AND FOUND - LAST CALL (NEW POST!)
This is our final call for our most recent Lost and Found haul! Please help us reunite some of these lovely hoodies and sweaters with their owners! Anything not reclaimed by Friday, September 26th will be donated!
ABC/25 FOUNDATION - THANK YOU!
GREAT NEWS! Thank you to all our Patton families that joined the ABC/25 Foundation and helped us qualify for a $2,500 grant! We met our registration goal and I am so grateful to all who joined!
TRAFFIC TEAM UPDATE (2nd POST!)
Our dedicated Traffic Team is still in need of volunteers to help out with both AM and PM traffic duty! If you or someone you know can spare 25 mins at either end of the school day, our traffic team would be incredibly grateful!! If you are interested, please fill out THIS FORM or please email pattontrafficteam@gmail.com.
SAFETY FIRST!
Please ensure that you are using the crosswalk during both drop off and pickup when you are getting to and from the blacktop. We have had a few instances of people not utilizing the crosswalk and it is very dangerous. We have traffic team members available to help you cross so please ensure we are keeping our carline safe and flowing by crossing at the designated crosswalk.
BIKE RODEO
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Bike Rodeo on Tuesday! We had 25 kiddos take part and were so happy to see so many people! We are so grateful to all our parent volunteers and our amazing SROs, Office O'Leary and Officer Regilio, who came out to help teach our Panthers bike and road safety! Thank you for being a part of this amazing and informative event!

ARTSONIA (FINAL POST!)
A Message from Mrs. Maloney, Patton's Art Teacher
Join Artsonia!
Although the majority of artwork made in art class stays at school until the end of the year, you can still keep up to date with your child's projects as they complete them by connecting with their Artsonia account!
Artsonia is a digital portfolio where 2nd-5th grade students post their finished work (Mrs. Maloney takes care of the posting for Kindergarten and 1st!). Third, fourth, and fifth graders also create artist statements to post along with their artwork.
By connecting with their Artsonia account, you can see their artwork, share it with family and friends, and even add compliments! Simply click on the link below and enter code 3TW4K6RN. You will then be prompted to enter your child's name and your email address. Then, as artwork is posted, it will show up on their profile! Please feel free to email Mrs. Maloney at amaloney@sd25.org with any questions you may have.
