Dear Main Street Families,

Thank you to all of our families for the incredible love and support you showed during Staff Appreciation Week! From thoughtful notes and kind words to donations and special treats, our staff truly felt celebrated all week long. Your generosity and appreciation mean so much, and we are grateful to partner with such an amazing school community. Thank you for helping make our staff feel valued, supported, and loved!

Additionally, thank you to all of the families who attended the Chess Wizard event! Scholars had fun learning the fundamentals of chess and learning more about the Chess Wizard program.

We would also like to wish all of our mothers and mother figures a very Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you for the love, support, and care you give each and every day. We hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating all that you do for your families and our school community!

As we head into next week, all scholars will be expected to return to full uniform each day. Thank you for your continued support in helping ensure students arrive dressed for success and ready to learn. Please reach out to the main office if you have any questions or need support with uniforms.

🎉 5th Grade Families

Permission slips for the 5th Grade Dance on May 29th from 6-9 have been distributed. Completed permission slips and payments are due by May 15th. Please note that all payments must be made in cash. We look forward to celebrating our amazing 5th grade scholars!

📊 Attendance Matters – Let’s Finish Strong!

This week, our average daily attendance was 92%, which is strong and shows that many of our scholars are showing up each day ready to learn! However, only 63% of students currently have an overall attendance rate (ADA) above 90%, which is below our goal. Consistent attendance is critical to your child’s academic success—every day of learning truly matters, especially as we approach the end of the school year and prepare for important assessments like the PSSA.

Our goal is to reach 90% Average Daily Attendance (ADA), and we need your partnership to get there. Please make every effort to ensure your child is at school on time, every day, unless they are sick.

Let’s work together to build strong habits and finish the school year strong!

Thank you again for your ongoing support of Main Street Elementary School. Your partnership truly makes a difference in the success of our students each and every day.

Warm regards,
Ms. D. Medley, Principal
Mrs. C. Edmondson, Assistant Principal

Proud to serve our amazing school community! đź’›

Mrs. Metzger’s room completed our plant study! With the help of photosynthesis, lots of TLC, and caring hands from our students, the plants sprouted just in time for Mother’s Day. Students also decorated clay pots to create a special gift for their mothers.
