I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to our school community for all the incredible support you provide. Thank you to everyone who made generous donations to our food drive, which supports "Hope". This generosity truly makes a difference for so many families. Additionally, thank you to those of you who supported your students participation in spirit week and our Scarecrow competition.

Greetings MUMS Caregivers!
As I walk the hallways of MUMS everyday, evidence of learning is everywhere. There are so many great things happening in all corners of MUMS, and today we have to take a look at 6th grade Individuals and Societies!
6th grade I&S students recently finished a unit exploring the inquiry questions: “How is human society connected to the natural world?” and “How can we describe where we are?”.
As part of their exploration, they learned about geography, symbols and scale, latitude and longitude, and climate data. After first practicing by creating a map of the United States, this unit ended in an impressive summative of “Create a Continent”. With some specific parameters, students used their creativity to create these awesome maps to communicate their understanding of what they’ve learned.
The products are so fun and creative, and include the essential elements (scale, symbols, compass, landforms, human connections to geography) that were studied in class. This unit focused on the Approaches to Learning (ATLs) of social collaboration (giving and receiving feedback) and communication (informing others with subject-specific language).
Staff Appreciation
Hello MUMS Families! We are organizing a Staff Appreciation Brunch for faculty and staff members at MUMS! The brunch will be Thursday December 11th, 2025. This is a great way to celebrate the wonderful staff at our middle school with a delicious brunch buffet. Student Absences, Dismissals + Bus Notes
If your student will be absent from school, needs an early dismissal, or will take a different bus, please follow these directions:
- Absence / early dismissal: Call 802-382-1297, the MUMS attendance line, before 8:30am (helpful tip: add this number to your phone now as "MUMS attendance line")
- Early dismissal + bus notes: Students must deliver a caregiver's note to the front office when arriving at school (before TA).
- If taking a bus other than their regular bus: Students must bring a caregiver's note and have it signed by a MUMS Administrative Assistant in the front office to be valid.
Shoreham/Cornwall bus caveats
Please use the "button" above to preview our ACSD bus routes.
Also please note a few caveats that impact students who ride Cornwall or Shoreham buses home.
Cornwall and Shoreham buses do not come to MUMS at pick-up time. Students who ride those buses must take a shuttle from MUMS to MUHS to meet their bus.
Cornwall students use the Bridport bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Cornwall bus at the High school to ride home.
Shoreham students use the Weybridge bus as their MUMS-MUHS shuttle and get on the Shoreham bus at the High school to ride home.
