Kids Heart Challenge Kick-Off!
We had so much kicking off this year’s Kids Heart
Challenge! Alongside this year’s heart heroes, we’re
learning about healthy hearts and life lessons like
staying active, asking for help, resting well and being
kind. Bonus: your student will get a free wristband for
joining at
http://www2.heart.org/goto/PaulineCentralPrimary
or using the AHA Schools app.

Reading Challenge is Underway
We have a new reading challenge in the library! We have a mystery picture on the wall and we are trying to find out what it is! The students that bring back their reading challenge paper get a strip of 10 stickers that they can add to our mystery picture! When lots of students bring back pages and add stickers, we'll be able to find out what the mystery picture is!
Kdg-1st graders have a yellow reading challenge paper. Their home books (that they just started getting from the library) can be one of the books on their reading challenge paper.
2nd-3rd graders have a blue reading challenge paper.
I hope to see your child in the library soon!
PC Book Fair Coming Next week!
The bookfair runs next Monday-Thursday (Feb 10-13). Monday - 8:30-3:30, Tuesday - 8:30-4:30 (late for Valentine parties), Wednesday and Thursday 8:00-7:30. Students will NOT check out books next week. Our collection will be unavailable b/c of the fair. They do not need to bring books when they come! Students will preview the book fair and make a wish list.
The other important thing to note is that we are going to pause our reading challenge (mystery picture). Students can continue to read and fill out papers THIS week, but please don't send them to the library with sheets NEXT WEEK.
We Need You on our Pauline Central PTO!
Thank you to everyone who attended our annual Pauline Express! It was a wonderful time for our families! We'd love to invite you to join the PTO. This organization supports our Pauline Schools in incredible ways. Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 4, 5:30 p.m. at Pauline Central.
February Lunch Menu
Important Update Regarding School Lunch at Pauline Central
We’re excited to announce a new lunch option for students starting on Friday, November 1. In addition to the main entree, Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches will be available every day (except Manager's Choice Days) as a second choice.
To ensure we have the correct amount of each entree, students will need to select their lunch choice in the morning and will not be able to change their minds once they choose.
Thank you for helping us make lunch a great experience for all students!
Community Information
Parents as Teachers Playgroups
Parents as Teachers openings in our area
Are you or someone you know currently expecting a baby or have a child that is newborn to age 3? If so, you might consider joining the Auburn-Washburn Parents as Teachers program. This program provides individual family visits with a trained family support specialist, giving parents resources and developmental activity ideas for keeping themselves and their children safe, healthy and ready to learn. It is a free service offered to any family with at least one child under the age of 3 years old living in the USD #437 district. Families have the option of meeting with their support specialist in the privacy of their own home or may choose to meet at another location within the community that is convenient for them.
We are currently taking applications for new families to enroll in the program, and both day and evening visit times are available. If you have questions or are interested in enrollment, please contact the program coordinator, Shawna Hall, via email at hallsha@usd437.net, by phone at 785-339-4762.
