North Point Middle School
October 2026
October 2026
Dear North Point Middle School Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already reaching the end of first quarter! We have a busy and exciting month ahead, filled with spirit weeks, the conclusion of our fundraiser, the first after-school PTA event, an End of Quarter Celebration, and parent-teacher conferences.
Recently, we held our very first Grizzly Cart managed by a Student Action Team! Students were able to spend the Grizzly Bucks they earned for positive behavior to buy rewards and treats. If you would like to help keep our cart stocked, you can contribute through our Amazon Wishlist.
First quarter officially comes to an end on Friday, October 16, which will be an early release day with school dismissing at 12:35 p.m. To celebrate students' hard work, we will also be holding an End of Quarter Celebration on October 16! To qualify to attend, students must have earned all A's, B's, or C's and have no record of In-School Suspension (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) for the quarter. The End of Quarter Celebration will include games, team competitions, and the option to purchase Kona Ice (cash only).
Following the end of the quarter, we look forward to connecting with you during parent-teacher conferences. Conferences will take place on Wednesday, October 28 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Thursday, October 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. You will have the option to attend either in person or virtually, and teachers will be reaching out soon to schedule a specific time to meet and discuss your child's progress.
Please note that students will not have school on Thursday, October 29 or Friday, October 30 due to conferences, as well as the following Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3. Classes will resume on Wednesday, November 4. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education!
It's a great day to be a Grizzly!
Sincerely,
Ashlee Pike

New School Mission, Mantra, & Student Design Contest
We are excited to announce our new North Point Middle School mission statement and mantra! We are inviting all students to bring these words to life through a school-wide design contest using drawing, painting, or digital illustration. The selected design will win special prizes, be featured on our school website, and be displayed throughout our building!
Mission Statement: At North Point Middle School, we build strong relationships and set high expectations to empower all students to reach their full potential.
Mantra: Meaningful connections. Continuous growth.
All entries must include the exact phrasing of our new mission and mantra and be submitted to Ms. Marci in the Student Office (in person or via email) by 2:35 p.m. on Friday, October 16. We can't wait to see our Grizzlies' creativity on display!

Community Partner Opt-Out Information

Agency presenters are credentialed, coordinated through the District, and under the supervision of building administrators. Presentation topics are targeted toward specific grade levels. All students will participate in each program unless you choose to opt your child out of the lesson(s). If you are interested in opting your student(s) out of the presentation(s), please click the appropriate link(s) below.
If you have additional questions, please reach out directly to your student’s guidance counselor.

Mrs. Lilley; 7th Grade Counselor
Mrs. Hilgenbrink; 8th Grade Counselor
Grizzly of the Month
Congratulations to the North Point Middle Grizzly of the Month September recipients. The Grizzly of the Month award winners represent the outstanding qualities and excellent characteristics of our entire student population.
Intramurals
We had a great turnout for the volleyball and basketball intramurals! Please arrive no later than 3:30 p.m. to pick up your child. Several students have mentioned that their parents are in the elementary school pick-up line. If you need to pick up a younger sibling, please pick up your middle schooler first. They can leave intramurals a couple of minutes early if necessary.
Our October and November intramurals are yoga and soccer. If you have a child who loves cheerleading or dance, yoga is a great intramural to try. We will be working on strength and flexibility as well as learning a cheer/dance to perform at one of the winter basketball games. More information will come for those who participate in this activity.

News from the Nurse
Medications
Does your student take over-the-counter or prescription medication? If so, get Student Health Forms from their physician that include the name of the student, name of drug, dosage, frequency of administration, route of administration, and the prescriber's name. Drop both the physician orders and medication off at your child’s school for the nurse prior to the start of school for ANY medication needed at school.
- If your student is having orthodontia work you can ask them for an order for OTC pain meds to help your student get through the day as well.
For medication drop-off please contact the nurse directly. Her information is provided below.
Parents are required to bring medication to school in properly labeled bottles.
Immunization Compliance
Reminder that all 7th graders will need to have immunizations before they start 8th grade. It’s a year away but we all know how quickly it goes. Please reach out to your pediatrician if you aren’t sure if your child is up to date. Students can get the required immunizations as early as 5th grade. Please send the most recent immunizations to amandahiteaker@wsdr4.org or have your child’s doctors office fax them to 636-445-5320.
