The Clayton Connection

Dear Clayton Middle School Families,

I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful, relaxing summer! Summer is a time to recharge, make memories, and spend time with those who matter most. While we know the school year will be here before we know it, I hope you're taking every opportunity to enjoy the slower pace that summer brings.

Here at Clayton Middle School, we have been busy preparing for an exciting school year. Our team is working hard to ensure that everything is ready to welcome our students into an engaging, supportive, and positive learning environment this fall. We cannot wait to open our doors and begin this new chapter together.

I am also excited to officially welcome Mrs. Laura Massey and Mrs. Jennifer Scott as the newest Associate Principals at Clayton Middle School. Both bring a wealth of experience, a passion for supporting students and staff, and a strong commitment to building meaningful relationships with our school community. Their leadership will be an incredible asset as we continue building a middle school experience where every student can thrive. Please join me in welcoming them to the CMS family!

As you read through this month's newsletter, I encourage you to pay special attention to the athletics information. Whether your child is interested in participating in a fall sport or you simply want to be prepared for the upcoming season, you'll find important information regarding eligibility requirements, physicals, registration, and important dates. Reviewing this information now will help ensure your child is ready when athletic opportunities begin.

There is so much to look forward to this year as we continue establishing traditions, expanding opportunities for students, and creating a school culture where everyone feels connected and valued. We are excited to partner with our families as we make this school year one filled with learning, growth, and unforgettable experiences.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, stay safe, and we'll see you soon!

With Eagle Pride,

Erik Wilson

Principal
Clayton Middle School

I am excited to join Clayton Middle School as one of your new Associate Principals. I have proudly served the Smyrna School District in a variety of roles, including teacher, reading specialist, and associate principal at another district school. These experiences have strengthened my passion for supporting students, collaborating with staff, and building positive relationships with families.

I am looking forward to an exciting school year and can't wait to get to know the students, families, and staff that make the Clayton Middle School community so special. I am committed to creating a positive, supportive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to grow and succeed!
