Butler's Holiday Gift Giving Tree - 2023

Holiday Giving Program…

A great way to offer comfort and support to Butler families

this holiday season.

Beginning November 17th, the Butler Giving Tree will be on display in the hallway near the main office. The Giving Tree will have tags that display the names of holiday gifts that can be donated for families in our Butler Community who are in need of extra support this holiday season. We invite our Butler students and families to choose a tag (if they wish) to purchase the gift listed. We ask that you wrap the gift and be sure to secure the same tag to the outside of the gift wrap. Please inform your student to only take a tag if directed so we are sure all items are received by the office in time.

All gifts should be delivered to the main office no later than December 15th - to ensure holiday delivery. Thank you for all of your wonderful generosity and support!

More information needed… Please contact Peggy Bernabei at pbernabei@cbsd.org

CBSD Attendance Letter

Regular school attendance is necessary for a successful school experience. Instructional continuity is interrupted when a student is frequently absent, tardy, or dismissed early from school. Understanding that regular attendance in school is necessary for students to gain maximum benefits from public education, the Central Bucks School District urges all parents/guardians to stress punctuality and regular attendance habits with their children. Please read Important Updates from the CBSD Attendance Letter - Click Here.

Please review the "Managing Student Attendance Plan" from CB.

Electronic Devices from Home

At the start of the new school year, the Superintendent shared CBSD Policy that all student cell phones/watches are to remain off during the school day - K-12. Please know that any students who bring in cell phones to Butler are required to leave in backpacks (turned off) and do not have access during the school day. Likewise, some of our students have watches that connect to phones and/or directly to a data source. The rule remains the same, so please know that if any device interferes with the classroom/learning/recess/etc., students will be directed to keep items home. Remember, parents may always contact the school office to relay/share a message for your child throughout the school day. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

American Education Week - 11/13-11/17

American Education Week is an opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and watch your children in action as they learn something new, participate in a curricular activity, or give a special presentation for visitors. This year, Central Bucks School District invites you to join us the week of November 13-17, 2023.

We invite you to come in, remembering that cell phone use while in the school is not permitted, and that this is an “adults only” visit - as small children may disrupt instruction during this time.

Veteran's Day "Wall of Honor" at Butler

Butler Elementary has a long-standing tradition of honoring our community's Veterans and Service Members. This time of year, we share a common appreciation for our Military Veterans in honor of November 11th Veterans Day Events. This week, Butler students and staff created posters of family and friends who have served during times of peace or war - and the sacrifice they gave serving America. Those posters and signs were displayed for all to see, recognize, and honor. Additionally, classrooms wrote cards and letters for all who serve our community (Fire, Police, EMS, and Military) expressing our deep appreciation for keeping us safe. We even had a parent, SMSgt Paliwodzinski join a 6th grade class to share about his experiences. Thank you, Veterans. Thank You, Soldiers. Thank you, Safety Services.

Butler Elementary Election Day Polling Station & Teacher In-Service - 11/7

November 7th was Election Day and Butler Elementary takes pride in acting as a community polling location for two voting regions. There was a steady stream of voters from early morning through to the end of the night, and many Butler students joined their parents to experience the election process. While school was off for students, the Butler staff completed teacher in-service and professional development in the building.

World Kindness Day - 11/13

On November 13th, Butler celebrated World Kindness Day! Not only is it a part of our Butler Pledge, we celebrate doing our best to be KIND because of our connection to the "Kind Like Joey" Foundation. Joey was a former Butler Bear who lived his life with kindness and grace among his peers - always focused on including others and being a good friend to his peers/classmates. Each year, we honor him on these special days where we highlight the kindness in our hearts.

Butler Portrait of a Graduate: Responsible Citizens - Support for our Troops and Deployed Military

Throughout October, CBSD highlighted Portrait of a Graduate: Responsible Citizens. Following Halloween and leading up to Veteran's Day, our Butler Bears collected candy for troops - a long-standing initiative to show appreciation to our community's Service Men and Women who are deployed overseas or across our nation. This week, Butler is teaming with CB South's "Operation Eternal Gratitude" collecting materials and goods that will reach the military personnel from across the globe. Thanks to everyone who was able to contribute!
