Information on Students Attending Football Games
Dear Parents/Guardians/Students,
Football Season is HERE! It’s hard to believe that we will be hosting our first Varsity football game on Friday, September 5th, against Highland High School at 7:00 PM. We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of our student seating policies at Friday night home football games.
In order to enhance safety and spectator enjoyment, the following procedures have been implemented for all home football games:
1. All elementary students (K-4) must be accompanied by a parent/adult in order to enter the stadium.
2. All elementary students (K-4) will sit with their parents/adult in the home bleachers.
3. Students (K-4) must remain in the bleachers during the game unless visiting the concession stand/restroom with their parent/adult. They cannot play football or tag in the open areas during the game.
4. Students in grades 5-8 will sit in the bleachers (The Pier) in the west end zone. Students must remain in the bleachers during the game. The 5-8 student section will be dismissed to the concession areas by bleacher section near the end of the second quarter. Learwood will exit near the away team concession stands, Troy students will exit towards the home concession stands. Students will be permitted to reenter The Pier anytime during halftime, as long as they are not interfering with band traffic.
5. Supervision staff will be stationed near the concession stands and in the paved area in front of the concessions to monitor student behavior.
6. Students are not permitted to leave their seats outside of the times mentioned above.
7. Students in grades 9-12 will sit in the normal student section on the northeast side of the stadium.
8. Please be reminded that backpacks, outside food/drinks, footballs, soccer balls, etc.…, are not allowed to be brought into the stadium. Also, noise makers are prohibited at games.
Students who fail to comply with these requests will be asked to return to their parent(s) and asked to remain under their parents’ supervision. If a parent is not in attendance, that parent will be contacted and asked to take the student home. Any violations of the rules and regulations as set forth by the district administration could result in being escorted from the stadium and possible forfeiture to attend future stadium events.
Student attendance at sporting events is an important element to promoting school spirit. It is our hope that students sitting in the bleachers will cheer and support the cheerleaders, band, and athletes on Friday nights. We appreciate your understanding and assistance as these actions are intended to ensure the safety and the enjoyment of the evening for all spectators.
Note from the Nurse
Welcome back to Redwood! As we start the new year we have a couple reminders 😊 All medication must be brought into school by an adult with completed paperwork. We can not accept any medication without an over the counter form signed by a parent, or prescription medication signed by the physician & parent. Daily prescription medication, or any prescription medication that will require a tablet count, can only be dropped off when a nurse is in the building, 9:45 -3:00. Please reach out nursing if you need to arrange another time to drop off. All over the counter medication MUST be in an unopened box/container and dosage must meet the requirements on the package for age and dose.
Have a great start of the year!

Electronic Student Devices - cell phones and watches
As more students bring cell phones and watches with wi-fi and data capabilities, it is
important to remember and inform your children about the policy of using them while at
school. During school hours, students must keep the phone in the locker/cubby or
backpack and have it turned off. If a parent needs to contact their child or a child needs
to contact a parent, that communication must go through the school and in most cases
the main office. Watches are another area where communication may occur if wi-fi or
data are enabled. Students may wear watches and use the watches for time telling
purposes or tracking their steps and other non-communication purposes. However, if
students and parents are using the watch to call and text each other, those devices will
be viewed more for communication and will be asked to be put away each day like a cell
phone. Thank you for your attention to this matter and following these rules.
