Pirate Weekly

from the Principal's desk...

🏴‍☠️ HELLO, PIRATE FAMILIES!

Another week is here! Can you believe we are already heading into the last week of our first quarter?!? I am not sure how that happened so quickly, but here we are!

💜 THANK YOU FOR COMING TO PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES!

I want to give a BIG thank you to all of our parents who took the time to attend Parent-Teacher Conferences last week!

It was so fun to put faces to names and see so many parents showing up to support their students. We had great attendance, and I loved seeing all the conversations happening between parents and teachers.

If you weren't able to attend, don't worry! You are always welcome to reach out to your student's teachers. Email is a great way to connect with them, ask questions, or check in on how your student is doing.

We truly appreciate the partnership we have with our families. These kids are pretty lucky to have so many people cheering them on!

📚 LAST WEEK OF FIRST QUARTER — LET'S FINISH STRONG!

Just a reminder that our first quarter ends THIS THURSDAY, October 22!

If you haven't checked your student's grades in PowerSchool lately, now would be a GREAT time to do that!

And if you happen to discover a few missing assignments...or maybe a whole collection of them...don't panic! 😂 There is still time to get some work done.

We offer after-school tutoring every Monday and Wednesday from 4:00–5:00 PM.

This is a great opportunity for students to get help from teachers, work on missing assignments, and finish the quarter as strong as possible.

Please encourage your student to take advantage of this opportunity if they need it. We want to see all of our Pirates be successful!

🦷 FREE DENTAL SEALANTS & FLUORIDE TREATMENTS!

We have a great opportunity coming to East for our 7th and 8th grade students!

Beginning in November, Delta Dental of Idaho will be bringing its Grins on the Go program to East Minico Middle School.

Through this program, eligible students can receive FREE dental sealants and fluoride varnish treatments right here at school!

So what exactly are dental sealants?

Dental sealants help protect the deep grooves in the back teeth, where approximately 90% of childhood cavities occur. Fluoride varnish adds another layer of protection to help keep those teeth healthy.

And here's the best part for parents...

IT IS COMPLETELY FREE! 🎉

There is no cost to families, and the program does NOT bill Medicaid or private insurance.

To participate, students must:

🦷 Be enrolled in 7th or 8th grade at East Minico Middle School.

🦷 Have a completed health history form.

🦷 Have a signed permission form from a parent or guardian.

Permission forms are available at the school or can be found here: http://www.deltadentalid.com/GoG-form

This is such a great opportunity to help keep those Pirate smiles healthy! 😁

💜 THANK YOU, PIRATE FAMILIES!

Thank you again for all the support you give our school. Whether you're attending conferences, checking grades, encouraging your kids to get their work done, or simply reminding them to get out of bed and go to school in the morning (sometimes that's the biggest battle of all! 😂), we appreciate you!

Let's make this last week of the quarter a great one!
