Welcome Back!
Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2026/27 school year! We are looking forward to an exciting year at Pinehurst. We enjoyed meeting those of you who were able to attend Open House and look forward to meeting those of you who could not make it.
The month of September will be an adjustment period for the children as they become familiar with the many routines, rules, and procedures in their new classrooms and throughout different areas of the school. We will spend the first few weeks learning expectations, how to be a learner, and building confidence.
The beginning days of school can be very tiring and challenging for our little ones, but we are always amazed at the quick progress each child makes as they transition from summer months to the full and rigorous day at school. We look forward to working together with you to provide a successful and enjoyable year for your child.
Thank you in advance for your involvement and cooperation. If you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call the office at 810.591.2760 or contact me by email at abennett@mtmorrisschools.org
Sincerely,
Anne Bennett, Principal

ParentView Updates
It is vital that we have the most up to date information regarding your child's contact numbers and contact persons. If your child was enrolled in Young 5s or Kindergarten last year, please login to ParentVue https://www.mtmorrisschools.org and update your information. If your number changes or if your child's medical needs change, please login to ParentVue and update your child's emergency information.
School Expectations
Mt. Morris Schools has a commitment to teaching positive behaviors that are expected in school. At Pinehurst we teach PAWS and what this looks like in different areas around the school. We also constantly and consistently praise and acknowledge positive behaviors. Please make sure to read the student handbook on our website about positive behavior support and disciplinary measures.
Bus Behavior
Please know that riding a bus is a privilege. All students must adhere to the bus expectations located in the student handbook on the building's website. Failure to follow these rules may result in permanent removal from the bus. It is vital for our drivers to be able to concentrate on the road at all times to make sure students arrive to school and home safely.
Change of Clothes
Please make sure there is a change of clothes in a plastic bag in your child's backpack. Children this age often have accidents or spills. If there is a change of clothes in their backpack, we will not have to disrupt learning to call home.
