Class of 2026

Hello Class of 2026 Families,

I’m excited to introduce myself as the new 12th Grade Assistant Principal! My name is Darlene Richardson, and I’ll be stepping into the role as Dr. Shade transitions to the Curriculum Office. I also want to introduce Leslie Morales, who will be the new 12th Grade Administrative Assistant — we’re both here to support you and your students through senior year! I've included our contact information at the bottom.

As we wrap up Quarter 1, I want to give a big shoutout to our students for their hard work so far — we’re proud of all your accomplishments! Final exams are just around the corner on October 7th and 8th, so stay focused and finish strong. Advanced Placement and semester long students who do not have finals, please continue to work hard and shine.

To our families, thank you for being such strong partners. Your support makes a big difference.

November 11th: College Essay support with LA teachers

November 12th: Career Fair during lunch in Commons

November 14th: Wear College paraphernalia/announce trivia winners

All presentations and voiceovers are located in the Counseling Office Google Site under “12th Grade”.
Seniors must bring in a copy of their Social Security Card to be eligible for the HOPE/Zelle Miller Scholarship.
For questions regarding transcript requests, please refer to the Senior Core Curriculum Presentation Voiceover in the Counseling Office Google Site under “12th Grade”.
Senior Information Sheets must be completed and submitted to the counselors at least 2 weeks in advance of the application deadline for required letters of recommendation.
Regularly check your school email for counselor updates.

Reminder Seniors - October 15th is the early action deadline for UGA and Georgia Tech, as well as the difference between early action and early decision..
Early Action (EA)
Non-binding: You are not required to attend if you are accepted.
Multiple Schools: You can apply EA to multiple colleges.
Flexibility: This plan allows you to keep your options open and compare offers from different schools.
Early Decision: You will still receive a decision earlier than with regular decision, but you have until the national May 1 deadline to decide.

🎓 Calling all GCPS Seniors! The 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholar Program (USPS) nomination window is now open for recognizing and honoring seniors for their academic achievements.

In May 2026, selected students will receive a presidential medallion commemorating their success. Students can learn more about this program at www.gadoe.org/USPS and apply between September 1 – November 1, 2025, by 5 PM. Please encourage qualifying seniors to apply for this program. Feel free to contact your senior's Counselor with any questions.

Bring a $150 deposit to get the order started and proof of your letter (actual award letter patch, certificate, or note from coach/sponsor)!

🎓 Prom 2025 Tickets will be on sale from October 13-20th for the FLASH SALE price of $65.

Prom is Saturday, March 21st at Gas South
Tickets will be sold on GoFan.
Ticket price will increase on October 21st.
Students can purchase 2 tickets under their PRHS ID number.
Guests must be between 14-20 years old.

Homecoming weekend September 26 - 27

Homecoming 2025 was a huge success staring with the football team's WIN of 43-7 over Duluth HS. Students had a great time at the King and Queen crowning ceremony and at the dance. Night on the Bayou was filled with lights and laughter. We hope your seniors continue to make great memories this year!

Peachtree Ridge High School (PRHS) has implemented multiple options for students to recover lost credit:

Credit Recovery via GA Virtual is ONLY available to SENIORS who have failed the course previously.
School Plus is available for All grade levels as well as summer school & other innovative intervention programs. School Plus is a good option for Seniors who need to add an extra class in addition to their regular schedule to stay on track to graduate.
