September Mid Month Updates 2026
VFE Falcon Family Newsletter
Principal's Message
What a fantastic start to the school year! Our returning Falcons have settled in seamlessly, making it feel as though they never left. Walking through the building is truly wonderful; our students are already doing an amazing job displaying kindness and remembering to be safe, respectful, and responsible.
To our new Falcon families, we extend our warmest welcome! Our staff and returning students are doing a wonderful job showing them the ropes, and our newest members are already settling into their new school community.
Below, you will find a few important updates for this month.
Warmly,
Angela Kelly – Principal
Bethany Whisler – Assistant Principal
🚗 Car Loop Milestone & Safety Updates
We have successfully reduced our car loop time to just 17 minutes! Thanks to your incredible teamwork, most families arriving at our 3:00 PM dismissal time are waiting no more than 6 minutes in line. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job helping your students recognize their cars, open their doors independently, and buckle up quickly!
To keep this momentum going and ensure everyone stays safe, please review these two critical items:
- Leave Room for Buses: When waiting in the car rider line, please stop completely before the front of the gate. Buses need this specific clearance to safely make their turns. Leaving this gap keeps the entire line moving smoothly and prevents traffic blockages. (Please see the referenced picture for a clear visual).
- Car Tags & ID Verification: Always display your official car tag. If you do not have it, you will be required to park and come inside to the front office to show photo ID. Staff members on the curb do not have a way to manually verify identities.
- Quick Tip: Take a photo of your car tag on your phone right now! A digital photo of your tag is fully accepted in the loop and will save you a trip inside.
School Counseling Needs Assessment (Grades 3, 4, 5)
Our school counselor will be providing 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students with a brief survey called a needs assessment. The needs assessment will be asking questions about connections to the school, perception of safety, and future aspirations . The is important data in designing a comprehensive school counseling program, and it allows counselors to follow up with students who need additional support. If you would like to opt out of the needs assessment, please contact Kaitlyn Johnson by September 18th.
Important Updates and Reminders from the Office
Beginning September 1, we are making a small change to our arrival and dismissal procedures to help keep our students and staff safe.
For late arrivals, early dismissals, and student checkouts:
Please use the Chromebook located in the vestibule outside the main office or scan the QR code from your phone to check your student in or out. If you sign students IN from your phone, please walk them in, or wait in your vehicle until you see them enter the building. For signing students OUT for early release, you must come into the vestibule.
If you are visiting the building for any other reason:
Please use the speaker/doorbell outside the main office to let our office staff know you have arrived. A staff member will assist you from there.
School Supply Donation
There is still time to pay a $25 fee donation per child to cover the cost of school supplies.
Directions to pay online:
- Visit the direct payment link here
- Log in with your username and password (same as Family Access)
- Click on the student that you would like to make a payment for

If your student needs assistance with the school supply fee or the items listed, please contact the front office and we will connect you with our school counselor.
