Speech with Stacy Stewart!
Hello! I am the Speech Language Pathologist at SRC. As a Speech Language Pathologist and mom, I play with A LOT of toys! I have found that the best toys promote speech and language development. Through the use of these toys kids are offered opportunities to learn new concepts, engage socially, develop play skills, gain independence, expand vocabulary, and build imagination. When playing with a child remember it’s important to talk through all interactions!!!
Here are a few toys that promote language development:
- Bubbles
- Balls
- Farm sets
- Books
- Board games
- Kitchen sets
- Dolls
- Trucks, trains, etc.
- Puzzles
- Craft sets

Message from Girl Scout Troop 58826
Hi! We are Girl Scout Troop 58826. At our meetings we have been learning about stereotypes. We know that stereotypes are an idea or belief many people have about a thing or group that is based upon how they look on the outside. We know they are wrong. They are wrong and hurtful because they are inaccurate, hurt feelings, and can limit you if you believe them.
Let's stop stereotypes!
Girl Scout Troop 58826,

IXL at School AND Home!!
To add a little competitive fun here at school, we have our "IXL SUPERSTARS" from each grade level. This means that the student from each grade level who has answered the most questions (correctly) for the week is announced over the intercom, they come down to the office for a prize and have their star put up on the wall with their name and the number of questions they answered. Our wall is filling up quickly!!
DeMoine Adams
- You get out what you put in.
- You win or lose by how you choose.
- Winners never quit and quitters never win.
Students (and teachers) were very inspired by DeMo's message, and it was a great way to start our second semester! If you are having a hard time at home - you could absolutely mention his name and remind your child of his messages! Hopefully your child will remember him!
