Morning Devotion and Weekly Chapel at CCS π
Faculty Fridays
Faculty and staff members enjoy sharing at morning devotion too! This sweet time of sharing our faith with the student body helps students learn and also encourages personal growth in our adults.
Honoring Grandparents
This week our morning devotions included some very special guests as the lower school classes hosted grandparents in honor of Grandparents' Day. On Wednesday, Miss Yearwood had the opportunity to share with students and guest how important her grandparents have been in the building and establishing of her faith in Christ.
Student Devotions
Leading devotion in front of your peers and teachers takes courage and boldness. Students are doing a great job planning and leading each week. From leading worship, to prayer, to scripture reading, to teaching, we are thankful to see them sharing their hearts and talents for the Lord.
Highlights from the Week π
Book Fair
Elementary classes spent time this week at the Book Fair exploring new titles and growing their love for reading. Special HUGE THANK YOU to our neighbors at the Margaret Jean Jones Center for allowing us to use a classroom for the fair!
Grandparent Guests
We love our grandparents! This week classes hosted their grandparents as guests in honor of Grandparents' Day. While on campus, grandparents were able to join us for morning devotion, special snacks, and visit the book fair.
Big Imaginations
Creativity is in full force during playtime! These girls were pretending to serve ice cream. It's amazing to watch students use their imaginations as they play together.
Farm to Table
College Planning
Seniors worked on exploring potential college plans for next fall by learning more about the degree programs and transfer options offered at Wallace State. Having college visitors helps bring information and perspective for students. Our next visitor will be from Samford University.
Reading Readiness
Kindergarten students are hard at working picking up on key words as they build skills that will help them become better readers.
Learning about Textures
Our young artists learned about actual texture and implied texture in art pieces.
Heat Breaker
Middle and high school students got some help cooling off from the heat with shaved ice treats from the FRO'Z truck. Thank you PTF for arranging the truck visit!
Taking Care of the Flag
Students have learned how to properly raise, lower and fold the American flag on campus. This is a great opportunity for them to take responsibility and honor what the flag symbolizes.
