Wessagusset Elementary School

Dear Families,
There is no place more festive than an elementary school in December! The students’ excitement and wonder reminds us all of the magic of the holiday season. The Holiday Shop was a huge part of that magic this week! Students had a wonderful experience choosing gifts for the family, friends, and pets…and the reasons that they chose each gift are so sweet. Thank you very much to our amazing Parent Council for coordinating such a special event, and to all of the volunteers who donated such fantastic gifts! Thanks to their hard work, the Holiday Shop will be a lifelong memory for our students. Below please find helpful information for the weeks ahead:
This week is Spirit Week! A list of daily themes can be found here: Spirit Week 2022 Thank you to Mrs. Ferreira and the PBIS Ambassadors for planning such a fun week!
Please be reminded that this Friday, December 23rd is a half-day, with dismissal at 11:50 am. School resumes after the holiday break on Tuesday, January 3rd.
Hannukah begins this evening and ends on Monday, December 26th. A great article and video with information for children can be found here: Hanukkah 2022. A very Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!
Kwanzaa is celebrated from December 26 until January 1. Some great information about Kwanzaa can be found here: Kwanzaa Information. Very warm wishes to all who celebrate!
A friendly but important dismissal/pick-up reminder: please remind your child(ren) that if their pick-up person is not outside at dismissal time, they should return to their teacher or the front office. Although we appreciate other parents and family friends offering to help, for safety reasons students must return to the school until their pick-up person arrives. Thank you for your help with this!
We have extra coats, hats, and gloves at Wessagusset for students who may need warm-weather gear. Please reach out to your child's teacher, or Mrs. Frat & Mrs. Doherty and we would be happy to help!
There are many awesome events happening at the Tufts Library! A calendar of events can be found here: Tufts Library Events
Term 1 report cards for Grades 1-5 will be available in Aspen on Friday, December 23rd. Below you will find directions for accessing your child’s report card:
On behalf of the entire Wessagusset staff, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday season. May it be filled with family, friends, and fun!
Sincerely,
Lindsey Frat

A huge thank you to Kristin Travers and Mo Fox for coordinating the breakfast this past week to show our appreciation to the teachers and staff
Another huge thank you to Elise Bowes and Kerri Dempsey-Cashman for coordinating this week’s magic show for the students for surpassing this year’s Booster goal.
