Palmer Speech and Debate!
National Speech & Debate gives students the opportunity to build confidence, communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills through competitive speaking, performance, and debate events. Students can compete locally and nationally while learning how to research ideas, develop arguments, speak persuasively, and express themselves with confidence. Original Oratory is where students write and deliver an original persuasive speech on a topic they care about.
Students interested in competing in speech and debate can see Ms Askew to learn more and/or come to practice after school on Wednesdays in the library.
Palmer Marching Band
Shout out to the Palmer Terrors Marching Band on their awesome Finals performance at last weekend's Harrison Marching Festival! They've worked hard for months, and it paid off on the field.
Terror Trcss Student of the Week
Congratulations to Juliana, our Terror TRCSS Student of the Week! Juliana exemplifies what it means to be Principled. She is kind, gracious, responsible, and consistently makes the most of her TRCSS time—whether completing homework, studying, reading, improving her grades, or helping others. She gives her best effort to every assignment, comes to class on time and prepared to learn, and actively engages in TRCSS lessons.
Just as importantly, Juliana shows genuine respect and appreciation for others. She ends class with a simple “thank you”—a small gesture that means so much to the teachers who hear it. Thank you, Juliana, for leading by example and showing our Palmer community what principled action looks like.
What Families Need to Know
During Quarter 2, students will be given information regarding their future course choices and pathways. Stay tuned for our upcoming 2026-2027 course catalog, which highlights our International Baccalaureate offerings, as well as our D11 course choices!
10th Grade Family After School Event: Mark your Calendars!
All 10th graders and their families are invited to an IB junior/senior pathways event on Wednesday, November 18 from 4-6 pm where you will learn about opportunities linked to students' interests and goals! We have so much to offer; we understand the importance of creating clarity when it comes to choosing. Our goal is to communicate options and pathways, answer questions and explore ideas with you. Together, we are better! More information will be coming soon.
Quarter 1 Grades
You can access your student's Quarter 1 grades by going to MyPowerHub! MyPowerHub gives Palmer families one convenient place to stay informed about grades, attendance, assignments, schedules, and school communication. Families can also receive and respond to messages from teachers and staff, with built-in language support to make communication more accessible. Use the quick guide above to get connected and stay involved in your student’s learning.
Around Palmer
Palmer's Med Ex Class with Mrs Roberson
Students in Medical Exploration (Med Ex) are getting an early look at careers in health science through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on practice. They are building medical terminology, learning basic nursing and patient-care skills, and exploring what it takes to work in a healthcare profession. Palmer encourages students to use high school courses like this to explore possible career pathways and connect their learning to future college and career goals.
