Principal's Corner
Parents, as we enter the last week prior to Spring Break I'd like to remind you that attendance is very important. So important that we are offering a special treat to all students with perfect attendance this week upon their return after Spring Break! So for your student to be eligible they need to be on campus and counted present every day this week.
We also have some very important activities taking place this week that require student attendance and participation. On Monday (3rd) our HEF Drive ends and the class with the most pennies wins a treat. So Monday will be the last opportunity for your student to turn in pennies to declare their class the winner of this years HEF penny drive.
Tuesday (4th) is the reading benchmark. This test will help teachers determine what students need the most help with prior to the STAAR test in April. Students need to be on campus to participate in this very important measure of student knowledge.
The book fair is open for class visits so your student will need to be present to be able to visit the library with their class.
Finally, this is National Read Across America Week. In honor of that on Friday (7th) students are able to dress up as a favorite school appropriate book character. (No horror characters please.) All students that dress as a character and brings a copy of the book for the character they are portraying will be selected to participate in a school wide parade before the end of the school day on Friday in celebration of Read Across America Week. (Flyer to go home soon.)
With all of these important and fun events taking place on campus this week, your student needs to be present everyday so they don't miss out on anything!

Below is a community contribution form you can turn in to our campus HEF representative, Ms. Therese Jimenez by March 3rd. We will also have copies available on campus for your convenience.
