Hillcrest E-TECH Newsletter
March 2026
From the Desk of Mr. DeJesus
Our Hillcrest E-TECH students continue to demonstrate great success in their high school and college courses! Our failure rates are decreasing, and our juniors and seniors have a 100% completion rate for their grade checks. Thank you to our parents for ensuring your students keep up with their schoolwork, to our students for putting in the hard work, and to our teachers & counselors who serve as facilitators checking student progress on a weekly basis!
We are now officially entering the time of year when students will take many important exams. Here are the dates:
- 3/2/26 - TSIA - Select 11th & 12th graders who have already been notified (at Richland College)
- 3/3/26, 3/5/26, & 3/6/26 - TELPAS makeup testing - 9th & 10th grade (at Hillcrest)
- 3/4/26 - SAT - all 11th grade (at Hillcrest)
- 3/6/26 TELPAS makeup testing - 11th & 12th grade (at Hillcrest)
- 3/11/26 - TSIA - 11th & 12th grade (at Richland College)
Students will take EOC/STAAR exams in April (see flyer in this newsletter), and AP exams will take place May 4th through May 15th (more details to come soon).
Parents, we still need your support in helping your students attend all of their classes and study halls. Please emphasize how important it is to stay on top of their studies as we near Spring Break, and then encourage them to persevere through to the end of the year with strength and determination. Tutorials are available Monday-Thursday for any students who need extra support; they can see any E-TECH staff member for specific days/times.
We can do this together!

Stay Informed--Join Remind!
Remind is the app we use in E-TECH to communicate important information to students and families. It is very important for ALL of our students to join, and we strongly encourage parents to join as well.
