Happy Friday Hawkins!
What a crazy weather week! Usually teachers are tracking possible snow days days ahead, but this one caught us all off guard. Hopefully everyone had a great day off and enjoyed the snow. It looks like we have some cold days ahead, please make sure your child is dressing appropriately. Science Alive visited with Hawkins kindergarteners this week. The kids always love seeing and learning about all the cool animals. A reminder, we do not have school on Monday, January 19th. Looking forward, we have Kindergarten Roundup on February 23rd from 6-7 pm, so if you know of families who may have a JK/K age child, please relay this information. Have a great weekend everyone, I will be reffing and enjoying a lot of football.

News From The Nurse
This time of year, we typically see an increase in stomach flu activity. We have recently noted an uptick in cases at Hawkins. Please take a moment to review the information below and follow all recommended precautions to help reduce the spread of illness. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
- Symptoms: Vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and low-grade fever.
- Reminder: Encourage frequent handwashing to prevent spread. Check household cleaners, many do NOT kill norovirus. Virus is shed for up to 10 days. Persons infected should not handle food for others for 3 days post recovery.

LOST AND FOUND
Hawkins lost and found is overflowing! If your child has misplaced a coat, boots, hat, gloves, lunch box, or backpack, please take a look in the lost and found located in the cafeteria. Any items not claimed by January 22nd will be donated.
Vision Screenings
Livingston County Health Department is providing Hearing Screening on January 20th - 21st for Grades 1st and 3rd. Also screened are last-year follow-ups and parent/teacher
requests. Please call the school and provide your child’s name and teacher if:
- You do not want your child screened.
- You have a concern for your child and your child is not in above grades.
(Technicians will accept parent/teacher requests on the first day of screening.)
DINE TO DONATE
Join us at Texas Roadhouse for our Dine to Donate event on Monday, January 26th, 2026. Hawkins PTO will receive 10% of all sales from 3 - 10:00 PM. Parent Volunteers
All parent volunteers must undergo a background check in order to volunteer at Hawkins. If you have not done so yet and are planning on volunteering at Hawkins, click on the link below to access Brighton Area Schools Background Check Form.
Just-In-Case Clothes
Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack and/or locker in case of accidents or emergencies (i.e. bathroom accidents, playground mishaps, lunchroom spills, ripped or torn clothes, etc.). We do not have extra clothes to lend out. An extra set here at school saves parents an extra trip to Hawkins during the school day. We appreciate your help!!!
