As a reminder, the School Board modified the 2023-24 school calendar to designate Tuesday, March 5, 2024, a student holiday and staff workday due to the presidential primary scheduled that day.

Monday, March 4: Flexes 5 and 6

Thursday, March 7: Flexes 7 and Advisory

As of March 1st, the BHS yearbook order has been placed. All students who ordered prior to March 1st were ordered a copy of the 2024 yearbook. BHS ordered 100 extras for anyone who forgot to order by the deadline. Those can be ordered on Jostens.com until they sell out. Yearbooks will be available for pick-up during all lunches once they are delivered to BHS (hopefully by mid-late May).

On February 22, local defense contractor, BAE Systems, graduated 24 students from its 2023-2024 season of Women in Technology. The WIT program provides a 14 week hands-on learning experience and introduction to engineering to junior and senior female students in the area with high aptitude in math and science. This year’s class included three Battlefield High School students: Carolyn Chen, Reet Kaler, and Wendy Pratt (not pictured). Battlefield's principal, DeLores Lucas, and Lea May, who teaches all three students, were able to attend the graduation celebration dinner.

Students who are interested in taking dual enrollment (DE) classes for the first time during the 2024-25 school year must complete the NOVA application, then add their desired DE course(s) to dualenroll.com. These processes must be completed before your school counselor will add any DE courses to your course requests for 2024-25. Students who have previously submitted a NOVA application should NOT submit another NOVA application.

The library’s 9th annual bracket-style tournament began this week. This year we've filled the brackets with 16 literary antagonists we love to hate, and in the first week of voting Professor Moriarty was trounced by President Snow! If you’d like to vote for the villains you love to hate, use this link to the ballot. The voting for week two will open at 3PM on Friday (3/1).

Pickleball Fundraiser for kids' mental health Sunday, March 3rd at Chestnut Forks in Warrenton.

Sign up for a three-hour time slot: 12-3 pm or 3-6 pm. Free instruction will be available for new players and there will be a toast and meal at 3 pm.

Included is a social area with music, entertainment, and a 50/50 raffle for exciting items for auction.

The event will be held at Chestnut Forks Tennis & Fitness. There is a QR code on the flyer for registration or you can register by going to www.ghrotary.org.
