Ashland Preschool Weekly Update

Hi, everyone,

It's been a busy and short week for us! Our staff participated in a full day of Professional Development on Tuesday with sessions that included a keynote speaker sharing "The Power of the Positive-Skills, Tools, and Strategies for Educators"; an elementary session on "Elevating our Language to Support our Learners", as well as building-based work. On Thursday, we shared a comfy day together in our pajamas. Students and staff were in their coziest clothes and having lots of fun!

Our students will participate in outdoor recess as much as possible throughout the school year. The guideline of "Feels like temperature of 20 degrees or warmer" is used to determine if it will be indoor or outdoor recess. This includes the effect of the wind-chill if it is a breezy day. That temperature can change throughout the day, so we ask the PittCrew to monitor The Weather Channel around their recess times.

Now that the weather is quickly changing, please remember to send your children in layers, as well as outdoor clothing, on a consistent basis. This includes sweatshirts, a warm winter coat, hat and mittens/gloves. When snow is on the ground, students will need boots and snowpants to play in the snowy areas. If they don't have these items, they will stay on the pavement.

The registration window is now open through January 19th for CURRENT and ALUMNI Families.
