From the School Counselor
Hello from Mrs. Vanidestine!
It has been a wonderful fall at Mary Snow getting to know all of your students! Students have worked hard to learn our PBIS RAMS matrix, and how we can apply it during the school day. They are so excited each Friday to find out who the weekly RAM award winners are.
I have also had a chance to go into all classrooms for Social Emotional Learning. The first few weeks we talked about what students should do during times of strong emotion. Ask your student what the three steps for handling strong emotions are!
The past few weeks we have focused on kindness. Students listened to the book Each Kindness, and shared with their class something they have done that was kind. We discussed how even a small act of kindness can have a big impact. Students also enjoyed dressing up for kindness week spirit days. Cozy day was a particular favorite! With their classroom teachers, students are working to make a kindness chain, because kindness links us all together.
I look forward to continuing our learning as the year goes on. I will be available during parent teacher conferences, so please reach out if you have a concern or a question for me.

Kindness Week
Turkey Trot
Thank you to the PTO and all the parent volunteers that came and assisted with the Turkey Trot! It was nice to have it outside this year and students had a great time getting some exercise, fresh air, AND earning some money to support different initiatives that the the PTO helps out with. We appreciate all the support!
Attendance Matters!
Thank you for sending your student to school! So far we have been meeting our attendance goal of over 95% daily attendance. Your help is greatly appreciated!
