Hello families,

Thank you to all the families that joined us for our Meet the Staff evening last Wednesday. There was an incredible buzz of excitement and positive comments. As I mentioned during the presentation, please remember, your child still needs and wants your participation in their education.

School Council Update

Our first School Council meeting of the year is Monday, September 21 at 6:30 PM.

All parents and guardians are welcome! It’s a great way to stay connected, hear what’s happening at the school and get involved where you can.

If coming to a meeting where you don’t know anyone feels a little intimidating, please email us ahead of time. We’ll make sure someone is there to welcome you and help you feel comfortable.

Milk & Cookies Fundraiser – September 29
Students can purchase milk and cookies for $4, cash only.

We’re looking forward to a great year!

Our annual Terry Fox run will be this Tuesday during blocks 4 and 5. Every student will be provided a burger or hotdog, chips, and a drink for participating in the run. Please make sure your child wears the appropriate clothing and footwear to have success. Our goal is to raise $1000 for cancer research and we can easily accomplish that if every student brought at least a toonie to donate. Their homeroom teacher will be collecting it until the end of September.

Mr. Kitson is starting our Art Club this Monday after school from 3-4pm. If you child loves art, please encourage them to check it out.

Our school would like to continue to support the Ben Stelter Foundation for another year. We will be hosting a bake sale just before the fall break from Oct 5-7, 2026. Please sign up below to support!

I am continuing to include the Walk Around the Community Field Trip form below, so if you haven't yet, please print the last sheet, sign it, and return it ASAP. You child will not be able to join our Terry Fox run if it is not returned in time.

St. Thomas More Grade 9 student Jayden is helping lead the school’s Ben Stelter Foundation school fundraiser for the second year. As Ben’s cousin and close friend, this fundraiser is especially meaningful to Jayden and her family. The school will be hosting a bake sale as one of several events to raise funds for cancer research and honour Ben’s memory. For every $1,000 raised, STM receives an entry into a draw for a chance to have Connor McDavid visit the school. Families are invited to support the fundraiser by donating baked goods for the sale.
