Recently, I had the privilege of traveling to New York City with a group of students and teachers. During our time there, we experienced the incredible results of human creativity and learning. We explored libraries and museums, and visited iconic places like Times Square, Central Park, and the Empire State Building. Each of these landmarks stood as a powerful reminder of what people can create when they pursue their passions and invest in their education and growth.

As we approach the end of the school year, I encourage our students to take a moment to reflect on their own learning journey. Consider revisiting your work from this year and identifying the experiences that were most meaningful to you. You might even begin building a personal portfolio—collecting favorite projects, essays, and reflections that capture not just what you created, but what you learned along the way. This could be done in a simple and accessible format, such as a Google Site or a Book Creator project, allowing you to organize and showcase your work in a way you can continue to build on in the future.

The future you are building is, in many ways, a monument to the knowledge and skills you are developing right now. We are proud of the work you’ve done this year and excited to see how you continue to build your future!

Warm regards,

Dr. Lucas

Last Progress Report of the Year!

Please note that Friday, April 24 marks the end of the grading period for the second Progress Report of Marking Period 4. Progress Reports will be available in Home Access Center (HAC) on April 30.

Following April 24, we will enter the final grading period of the school year, which runs from April 27 through May 22, with Report Cards issued on May 29. We encourage students and families to stay in close communication with teachers regarding any late or missing assignments during this important final stretch.

Let’s finish the year strong! 💙

(The UIL calendar with these timelines is linked in the “Important Calendars” section below.)

STAAR/EOC Testing Attendance

Attendance during our first week of STAAR/EOC testing was stellar!! 🌟Thank you to our students and families for helping us remain in compliance with Senate Bill 569. We truly appreciate your support and commitment.

We have had a few families ask why students are asked to remain in the testing room until the designated end time, even after they have finished their exams. We kindly ask for your support in this practice, as it helps maintain a calm and focused testing environment. Allowing all students the full time reduces pressure and prevents those who may need additional time from feeling rushed when others finish early.

If you missed the detailed update sent on April 1, you can review all testing information, including dates, times, and locations, using the link below:

Look for an email sent on April 12 from Ms. West with more details. This is a great opportunity for rising 12th grade students to review transcripts, discuss their four-year plans, and ask questions about senior year expectations, graduation requirements, or post-secondary planning.

Stop by to see Ms. Morgan and Ms. West in Room 137 after your EOC!

We look forward to helping our future seniors prepare for a strong and successful final year!
