Principal's Message
Dear Families,
I am extending my sincere gratitude for your participation in our Red Ribbon Week activities. Our children had a fantastic time during Character Book Day.
This past week, the second-grade students had an exciting opportunity to visit the Simulation Center, where they glimpsed the future of robotics and remote surgery.
This week, our SBDM team will convene. While the board may meet in person, we understand the limited space constraints. Therefore, we will provide a virtual link for those who wish to join remotely.
It has come to my attention that some families still need the yearbook. Although this event was not organized by the school, I am committed to understanding the extent of this issue to address it with the parents in charge and the PTO. We aim to have a concrete solution within the next two weeks. Please complete this form if you are impacted by this situation: https://forms.gle/8cor2catGL5M7AXU7
This week, we are excited to announce that applications for the new school year will open on Novembers 1st, 2023. Please refer to the information provided in the "Resources You Can Use" section of the newsletter for details.
Please note that these applications are specifically for new families who wish to enroll at our school or for current families who intend to bring a sibling to our campus. For clarification, here's an example: if you have a child named Robert, who is already attending our school, there is no need to submit an application for Robert. However, if Robert has a sibling who wishes to join our Biomedical program, an application for Robert's sibling is required.
Additionally, any new families who wish to join our school community are encouraged to apply.
We look forward to welcoming new members to our school for the upcoming academic year. If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Lastly, our school counselor is seeking feedback to enhance her program. Please take a moment to complete the survey located under her section.
We are wishing you all a great week ahead.
Sincerely,
Dr. G

Lunch Sign Up- November
We are excited for our Parent Lunch on Thursday November 16th. As a reminder, if you attended the October Parent Lunch, please do not sign up for the November parent lunch. This will allow more families to have an opportunity to eat with their student. Only 1 adult is able to join their student due to available seating in the STEM room.
To ease the check in process, please create an account on Voly. Please contact Ms. Maffucci at gmaffucci@dallasisd.org with any questions.
Uniforms
I would like to remind you to review the uniform policy and ensure that your child is wearing appropriate uniform and footwear. This is to ensure their safety as improper shoes can lead to injuries.
Homeroom teachers will begin contacting families regarding this topic to better understand individual needs.
Your cooperation in this matter is highly appreciated. please see the approved uniform policy here
Crocs are not allowed as part of Dallas ISD uniform policy.
As the weather gets cooler, we want to remind you to label all student layers. Please write your child's name on the tags of their jackets or sweaters. We want to make sure no clothing items get misplaced and can be returned to your child.
Special Education Workshops for Families
The Special Services Department is hosting parent workshops for families that have children with special needs. Please join us and encourage your families and community to attend our October and November Parent workshops for the 2023-2024 school year.
