Ramadan Ramadan

As we have entered the holy month of Ramadan, a number of our families will be observing this special time in the Islamic calendar. Ramadan is a month of reflection, prayer, charity and self-discipline, and for some of our pupils this includes fasting from dawn until sunset. We are incredibly proud of those children who are choosing to fast; this is a significant commitment and a great personal achievement, especially while continuing with their learning and school responsibilities. As a school community, we celebrate the values Ramadan represents — kindness, patience, generosity and empathy — and we will continue to support all our pupils during this important time.

Reception Visit Reception Visit

This week, Reception visited ACW Garden Centre. The pupils talked about what they could see and now they are going to grow their own plants and enjoy playing in the garden centre role play area.

World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March, and we’re excited to celebrate a love of reading across the school. Children are welcome to come dressed as a favourite book character, but please don’t feel the need to buy anything new — simple, creative, and inexpensive costumes are absolutely fine. Our focus is on enjoying stories, not spending money, and we look forward to a fun, book‑filled day together.

Young Minds - Supporting Mental Health Young Minds - Supporting Mental Health

More young people than ever before need support for their mental health and accessing that support quickly, can make a critical difference to those young people. Yet, most of the time those young people need to wait. And wait. And wait.

When it feels like nothing is there for you when you need it most, you feel alone. For far too many young people, this is their reality. When they need help and can’t get it, it feels like they’re being told they don’t matter.

Young Minds provides young people with the tools to look after their mental health. They empower adults to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives. And they give young people the space and confidence to get their voices heard and change the world we live in.

If you are interested in accessing any of these resources, please click on the link below which will take you to the Young Minds website.

Mabel Mabel

Mabel is gradually settling into life at Low Ash, and we’re taking things slowly to ensure this is a positive, calm experience for everyone. Just like our pupils, dogs need time to build confidence in new surroundings, routines and relationships. With this gentle, steady approach, Mabel will feel safe, secure and ready to become a happy, full member of our school community.

Photos at school events / assemblies Photos at school events / assemblies

A reminder that if you take any photos at achievement assemblies / school events, please try to ensure only your own child is in these. If any other child is accidentally in any photo please ensure this is not posted to social media. Thank you for your support in this.

Healthy School Snacks Please! Healthy School Snacks Please!

A further reminder of the importance of pupils bringing healthy snacks into school for morning break. Choosing nutritious options supports their concentration, wellbeing and long‑term habits. Suitable snacks include fresh fruit, vegetable sticks, raisins, plain rice cakes, breadsticks, yoghurt tubes, or a small portion of cheese. Sweets, chocolate bars, crisps and sugary drinks are not allowed so that we can maintain a healthy school environment for everyone. A reminder also that we are a nut free school.

Adult animated content is more popular than ever but is not always what it seems. These videos which often appear cartoonish and harmless, often contain strong language, explicit themes, graphic violence or dark humour. Many are accessible through platforms like YouTube, TikTok or streaming services where filters may not catch them in time.

A reminder that all of our guides can be found on the online safety page of the website.
