COVID-19

Updated guidance from the DfE has advised: children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend.

The attached document provides summary advice on what you now need to do and know in relation to respiratory infections including COVID-19. Please note that all previous guidance has now ceased.

As we learn to live safely with coronavirus (COVID-19), there are actions we can all take to help reduce the risk of catching COVID-19 and passing it on to others. These actions will also help to reduce the spread of other respiratory infections, such as flu, which can spread easily and may cause serious illness in some people.

THANK YOU

Your kind donations have already helped many people this year:

  • Driffield Foodbank
  • Red Nose Day
  • Children in Need
  • Ukraine - shoe box appeal with the Driffield and Wolds Weekly

We would like to thank you for your continued support for these causes over the course of the year. We have raised over £100 for Red Nose Day and for Children in Need, as well as donating food for the Driffield Foodbank and collecting valuable supplies for the people of Ukraine. We may be a small school, but your kindness in helping the lives of children and their families both in the UK and wider world is very generous. Many thanks.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR CLUBS

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again after the Easter holidays and we are excited about our extra-curricular offer. We have something for everyone:

Gardening Club

Computing Club

Debate Club

Sports Club

Spanish Club

ATTENDANCE

As we have reiterated before, it is very important to have a good education behind you if you want opportunities in adult life. Children only get one chance at school, and your child’s chances of a successful future may be affected by not attending school regularly.

In order to make every day count it is vital that your child attends school every day unless they are ill or there are exceptional circumstances. (As a school we are aiming for at least 97%.)

Attendance over the last two weeks:

Class 1 - 94.14%

Class 2 - 95.87%

Class 3 - 97.76%

LISTENING TO YOU

Reminder to look at the newsletter/ website or School Jotter App (which can be downloaded free to your phone) for updates about key news/ events. We are only a phone call away should you ever need any clarification.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB

Following a recent finance governors committee it has been decided to only run our After-School Club until 5pm. We know this news may disappoint some parents/ carers, but the decision was taken in light of the reduced numbers and negative financial impact on school.

CHURCH, GOVERNORS AND COMMUNITY

It has been lovely to welcome our wider community back into school recently. The Certificate Assembly and Easter Church services were very well attended. Both the children and Revd. Jacki commented on how special it is when we are all together. Thank you for your time and continued support.

EASTER

Have a wonderful Easter break and we look forward to seeing you all safely in two weeks.
