On Monday night the FCA group met at the Akron Foursquare Church. Students enjoyed a night of worship, dinner, fellowship and games.

FCA is lead by the Akron FCA Leadership team and Austin Couch.

On Monday, the MS girls hosted Brush, with the A, B, C and D team all seeing some court time. Brush overtook the B, C and D teams, while the A team had a strong presence on the court and came way with a win.

The girls travel to SedgCo on Thursday and host the LPAA Tournament on Saturday, February 22nd.

Last week the Pom team performed a kick routine to "Check This Out". The dance can be viewed on the Akron Rams Pom page on Facebook.

Last weekend, Akron proudly took six members of the wrestling team to the State Wrestling Tournament. The hard work and commitment displayed by all team members were commendable, and the incredible support from the crowd added to the excitement of the event. Sierra Brown represented Yuma in the girls division at the State Tournament.

Akron students who competed were Eli Hart, Raegan Torres, Merek Charney, Kaleb Grauer, Tayshaun Thomas, Mason Porteus and Sierra Bown.

Merek Charney placed 4th in his weight class, closing out his Senior year with 3 medals at the State Tournaments.

Congratulations to all the wrestlers and coaches for their exceptional performances and hard work this season!

Last Thursday, the boys and girls basketball teams faced off against the Merino Rams. The girls put forth a commendable effort, but despite their hard work, they fell short against a strong Merino team. The boys' varsity team showcased their skills and determination, securing a solid victory with a final score of 53-37 over the Rams.

With the cold weather impacting the schedule, the games against Wray were postponed to Wednesday night. Both varsity teams took to the court with the boys' game becoming particularly competitive, ending in a narrow loss of 53-50. The girls pulled ahead in the final minutes to achieve a 47-38 win against the Eagles.

Looking ahead, the Rams have a busy weekend lined up. They will be traveling to Caliche on Friday night, followed by a matchup against Briggsdale on Saturday.
