The preschool playground got an amazing upgrade!!
Big smiles and lots of excitement! Thanks to a very generous donation from ESD 101, our preschool playground has brand-new equipment for students to enjoy. Weekly Spotlight
- Sweet Success for 6th Grade!
Our 6th graders definitely know how to work hard and play hard! This week, all three 6th grade classes cashed in their hard-earned Pride Cards for a massive school-wide ice cream party. To earn this treat, each class saved up 800 Pride Cards—a huge testament to their kindness, responsibility, and school spirit! They celebrated with two scoops and three toppings of their choice. Way to go, 6th grade! We are so proud of your teamwork.
Middle & High School Highlights
Hello Reardan Families,
We’ve had a great week as we wrapped up the semester! Students have been working hard to finish strong, and we’re proud of the effort we’ve seen across all grade levels. Thank you for your continued support in helping make this a successful end to the term.
Driver’s Education Update
Look out—Reardan has 18 new Driver’s Ed students who will soon be earning their driving permits and hitting the road! This is an exciting milestone for our students. Please join us in reminding them about safe driving habits, responsibility behind the wheel, and staying focused while driving.
Sleep Matters: A Growing Concern
One trend we are noticing at both the middle school and high school levels is that many students are not getting enough sleep and are staying up too late. Lack of sleep can impact academic performance, mood, focus, and overall health.
Recommended sleep guidelines for teenagers:
Teenagers should get 8–10 hours of sleep per night
Establish a consistent bedtime and wake-up time, even on weekends
Limit screen time (phones, gaming, TV) at least 30–60 minutes before bed
Create a calming bedtime routine to help the body wind down
Keep bedrooms dark, quiet, and cool for better sleep quality
Helping students develop healthy sleep habits can make a big difference in their success at school and beyond.
Thank you for partnering with us to support our students. We appreciate all you do and wish everyone a restful and well-deserved weekend break as the semester comes to a close.
Go Screaming Eagles!
Sincerely,
JoLynn Ray

Reardan School-Based Health Clinic Visits- On Campus at School!!
We’re excited to continue offering School-Based Health Clinic days for students this school year in partnership with Lincoln Hospital and Clinics! A medical provider will be on campus for in-person appointments the last Wednesday of every month throughout the rest of the school year!!
These visits are a convenient option for families and can be used for:
Wellness/annual check-ups
Sick visits
Ongoing concerns (headaches, stomachaches, allergies, rashes, asthma, etc.)
Or any health concern your child may need to be seen for
One of the best parts of this service is that students can be seen right here at school, and after their appointment, they can return to class—helping families avoid missed work, long travel times, or difficulty scheduling appointments.
Remaining Clinic Dates
Clinic visits will be held on:
January 28
February 25
March 25
April 29
May 27
How to Schedule an Appointment
Families may schedule directly through Lincoln Hospital and Clinics by calling: Just let them know you'd like to be seen at Reardan School Clinics. 509-725-7501

Parent/Guardian Information
Parents and guardians are always welcome to attend their child’s appointment. However, if you’re unable to come in, your child can still be seen at school as long as we have the required paperwork and consent completed ahead of time.
Consent Required
Please know that no medical care is provided without parent/guardian consent. This includes any vaccines or immunizations—nothing is ever given without your written permission.
Important: Parents/guardians must complete the required clinic paperwork before a student can be seen.
This program is here to support our students and families by providing easy access to quality healthcare right here at school, especially for the convenience of families in our rural community. Please let me know if you have any questions or need help scheduling an appointment. Thank you!!

🛑 1. The "Danger Zone" (What Students Need to Know)
Did you know that the most dangerous part of the bus ride is actually outside the bus? The "Danger Zone" is the area 10 feet around the bus where it is difficult for the driver to see a child. Parents, please talk to your students about this important information to help keep them safe.
The "High Five" Rules for Students:
Wait for the Signal: Wait for the driver to give you a "thumbs up" or a nod before approaching the bus or crossing the street.
The 10-Foot Rule: Always walk at least 10 giant steps away from the front of the bus so the driver can see your face.
Never Walk Behind: Never, under any circumstances, walk behind the school bus.
Don't Reach! If you drop something near or under the bus, leave it. Tell the driver and wait for their instructions.
Stay in Sight: If you can't see the driver’s eyes, the driver can't see you!
