Classroom Highlight: GCPS Literacy Lab

From jig saw research to sorting facts to persuasive posters…we love the Literacy Lab at GCPS! One of their most recent units of study was on Giant Pandas and Red pandas. 🐼 The students compared and contrasted the different pandas and created persuasive posters to save endangered animals. Then using nonfiction articles, they researched in jigsaw style an element of the animal. For example, one group focused on habitat. They also had the panda cam at Atlanta Zoo running. What fun!

Staff Spotlight: GCHS A/V Teacher Michael Hale

Fun Fact: This video was created by Communications Department intern Kalonji Jarrett, a 2023 GCHS graduate who completed his spring semester Work-Based Learning class as an internship doing video projects with the Comms Dept. this spring. We thank Kalonji for his work and wish him the best of luck as he heads off to college to study film/cinematography this fall!
