Z Car Club of Colorado
October 2025 Odometer "Lite"
The Prez Post by Cheryl McKenney
Happy fall!!! It is hard to believe that this will be my last President’s letter. The last couple of years have flown by, and things sure have changed. Our family has grown with the addition of our granddaughter and our new daughter-in-law. The club has changed as well with new members and with those that are no longer with us. There are several members I would like to thank.
First, I would like to thank Mike Rhyne for his dedication to the club and all of his hard work as the Vice President. He not only tracks our active member points but is instrumental in making sure all of the events are posted to the website. And speaking of the website, Mike also keeps the site up and running and makes all of the necessary improvements. Thanks, Mike, for all you do for the club!
I would like to thank our Secretary Patty Troxell for recording all of our board and general meetings. She works to keep members not in attendance informed of the club's happenings. She is also our Constitutional Analyst and can answer any questions about our constitution.
Next, I would like to thank Travis Scott, our Treasurer. Travis keeps track of all our funds and makes sure the club has money to not only pay our bills but to have some fun with as well. Even though we don’t always see Travis at our general meetings, he works hard to fulfill all our obligations.
Jason Spegal is our Odometer editor and joined the Board last year. It has been exciting to see his take on the Odometer. He has showcased our members and cars with lots and lots of pictures and has many great ideas of what he would like our newsletter to become. Thank you, Jason, for all your hard work on the Odometer!
I would also like to thank our Interclub liaison, Wendy Rhyne. Wendy has kept us informed of all the fun events, not only in our area but also in other parts of the country. She has attended many of the events, and the tales of her and Mike’s trips always make me want to go and see them for myself!
Next, I would like to thank our Membership coordinator, Andy Mortenson. Andy tracks all of our member renewals and processes our new member applications. Thanks to Andy, we can always find the member information that we need.
Even though she is not a Board member, I would like to thank Tiffany Gordon for all that she does to support the Board. Tiffany is the administrator for all of our Zoom meetings and is fantastic at keeping up with our social media presence. She has also been there to help support the Board with any activities that we are doing. We couldn’t have online meetings in the winter without Tiffany.
Lastly, I would like to thank our new Public Relations Coordinator, Don Gordon. Don recently joined the Board to fill this vacant position and has been very active in engaging with our vendors. I look forward to seeing what he will do next year!
Thank you again to Mike, Wendy, Jason, Travis, Patty, Andy, Tiffany, and Don for all of your hard work on the Board! The club would not be here without all of your hard work! And thank you all for allowing me to be your President for the last two years!

Gateway Classic Cars Denver Location is Closing Their Doors
We are deeply saddened to hear that Gateway Classic Cars of Denver will be closing its doors on November 15th. They were extremely welcoming to our club and allowed us to hold our monthly meetings there. They also featured our car club several times at the Caffeine and Chrome events. On Saturday, September 27th, they hosted their final Caffeine and Chrome Car Show. Several ZCCC members went to express our thanks and show support. The parking lot was so packed that people were lined up on the sides of the building with their vehicles. They have built an amazing community in Denver, and it is a real loss to see them go. Please note that their Holiday and Toys for Tots event scheduled for December 6th has been canceled. Thank you, Gateway Classic Cars of Denver.
